The AVD149 is basically a Hoptpoint with Ariston controls so it’s not too bad, the other one I don’t have any information on I’m afraid.
My personal recommendation would be to increase your budget and get a Bosch or similar 😉

Thankyou very much. You’ve heard about Ariston that it is not a good washing machine?Do you know people that had problems with it?A friend of mine took one recently so i don’t know how it will last in time.In my country, Ariston products are quite expensive 🙁 Can you tell me how much is AVD149 where you live?In euro if it is possible. This is a link where you can find Ariston AVG12,16 http://www.ariston.it/ariston/_pdf/manuals/04111401.pdf (english is from page 13).It’s newer than AVD149 and it is completely digital. And if you are kind to answer me one more one more question, what machines are better and rezistent in time? The digital ones or the mecanic? Thank you :worthy:

You have no choice now, more than 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} are digital!!
Pay more Euro’s you get a better machine…it’s much easier to choose a new machine knowing that eh? 😀

If you type this in to Google:
“AVD149 site:uk” it will bring up plenty of options for you to check the UK Prices.
To be honest, even looking at one on a website or brochure won’t tell me what it “really” is on the inside 😉
Where are you by the way ?
Dave.

Keymasteryes, of course i know that if i pay more euros the better the machine is. I asked how much it costs in your country because i was curious what is the price difference. I am from Romania and here all products are more expensive, especially electronics. And I gave you that link because you said you didn’t know the model and I thought that if you see it maybe you’ll remember it.Thank you again for answering me 🙂

I’m having the some problem as the folks above.. the button keeps spinning and stops at number 1. I’ve done all the suggested (clean the filter, drain water and nothing is on the pump) and i dont know what to do more.
Mod: Ariston Margherita 2000 AL68XAny more suggestions please? Could it be the programmer that have failed?
Thanks

GOD HELP US ALL HERE ON THIS SITE!!….we have enough trouble ‘remotely’ diagnosing faults just on UK marketed machines with little or bu&&er all technical info from “THE INDESIT COMPANY”. That we should be wrestling with half cocked advice on all their other European tosh as well???????
Candy Elise 105 springs to mind here……….???

The AVD149 is basicaly the same machine as the A1636 which is sold exclusively through Curry’s in the Uk, it is a fairly reliable machine.

Ok.. I checked it and it blinks 3 times fast, then stop.

Normally a temperature control related problem for three flashes.
Check the terminals on the temperature sensor, a known problem 😉
Pull the plug 1st of course :zap:
