ZWF1221! Well that does sound familiar……. 👿
2 in the last 2 days – both bearing failures – one was 16 mths old, the other one today was just 13 mths old. But as if to add insult to injury, the poor lady found that Currys had charged her £3.99 for her first installment of her extended warranty, but no further money was taken from her account as the mandate had not been forwarded. How unlucky is that? :rolls:
13 mths? Electrolux should hang their fat corporate heads in shame. What an utter disgrace!! I would really like to know how they can justify this wanton waste of materials.
Mind you, I would really like to know who in the world really gives a tuppeny toss anyway…………. 😈Steve.

KeymasterWhere was it that someone had posted that this was the future?
What future, the future of retailers and manufacturers being hammered by the “fit for purpose brigade”? ‘Cause I’ll tell you that will happen.
If you really want a laugh tell every customer that you get with one of these to contact Watchdog, that may produce some fun and games. 😉

What a good idea Ken, my customer wants someone’s head on the block. The Watchdog route could be explosive – she’s furious so she’d be up for it all right. 😈
I’ll “suggest” it tomorrow………… :stir:Steve.
P.S. I’ll almost certainly put an ISE 5 in there if she fails – so life’s not all bad…. 😆

Well you see the way it works is that Watchdog is “apparently” holding a database of all sorts of complaints and “allegedly” when they get enough on any given subject they will “sometimes” run a feature on it.
Not that I’d know how it works of course but I think I can safely “assume” that the more people that complain about the on subject or brand there is more chance of it being highlighted.
Of course I can’t say for sure though. 😈

just out of interest, i know we all mocked TIM for what he tried, but has anyone here tried to split a sealed tub?, cause if someone could make a tool to split them & a clamp to re-join them they could make a mint out of it,

Participantwiil someone wake hotpnt up? he seems to be sleeping, and dreaming again!!!
honestly, im not sure youd ever seal them effectively enuff, not without bolting it somehow
although my mate said, the hotpoint welded tub, when split has the old 95 series bearings in
he never managed to seal it though
ne1 else aware of that?

yeah i know it probably is a crazy idea, but if someone did come up with an ingenious kit, it would send a few shocks back to the manufacturers

KeymasterRe: One piece welded tub seized solid!
Being the political animal I am, I actually think it’s better if we don’t come up with an ingenious solution. Let’s face it, if we really wanted to we probably could.
But the reason for not doing so is, well, let’s just say it calls a lot of other things into focus. 😉
As a certain person keeps reminding me, often what you don’t do is more important than what you actually do.

Is this the welded tank assembly? – part number 1260657000. Stocked at Connect £69.86 + VAT. No photo!! 👿
Can anyone clarify this?Steve.

Are the 6205 / 6204 bearings used for all spin speeds? I assumed Hotpoint had increased bearing sizes on the WMA to cope with the heavier wash load and higher spin speeds.

ParticipantRe: One piece welded tub seized solid!
Regarding Kens watchdog idea, i think that might have legs. I mean, come on, if these sealed tubs end up with average replacement cycles well under 5 years & the customer stuffed if they have no warranty, then thats simply not cricket, totally unacceptable IMO.
As well as encouraging customers to complain, a call from a few hundred engineers would’nt do any harm, maybe one brave soul can appear as the obligatory ‘expert’ :rolls: 😆
