    Re: UK Whitegoods Meeting 5

    Hi Ken,
I am able to come to the meeting and would be grateful if you could book a room for me for Thurs & Fri nights, and lunch on Friday if there’s still space available. I’ve been trying to find the details of the hotel somewhere on the website; I’m sure it must be here somewhere but I can’t find it. Please can you let me know.
    Thanks,
    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,

I don’t know the state of play with hotel rooms, but I do know it was getting pretty tight.

The meeting is no problem at all, consider that done.

Details of the hotel are on the front page just below the introduction, there’s a picture of the hotel there that gives a link to the hotel’s own website. Any hassles, let me know and I’ll see what I can get done.

The Millers is now fully booked on the Friday (almost entirely by us) so we’re looking into alternatives in the area, David will get back to everyone on this later today I hope.

There are still a “few” rooms left on the Thursday, but not many from what I can gather.

Methinks we may require a bigger venue for Feb 2006. 🙄

Just a note of thanks on this thread to the sponsors of the upcoming meeting for their support of the meeting, thanks guys.

The details are in the announcement box for the meeting on the front page.

It seems to me that UKW is coming of age, when not only is it being recognised by its hundreds of trade members and thousands upon thousands of public enquirers.
We now have trade suppliers and manufacturers who are willing to openly display their support for our community, who before UKW came along, were generally regarded as the forgoten side of the trade.

I feel sure that their willingness to show that level of support for both our site and national meetings with their sponsorship and also by putting their individual company logos on the front page, will pay back real dividends in the fullness of time.

Lets hope they are the first of many, but that aside lets not forget that they were the first.

Plus, its always nice to see who your friends are. 😉

Hi Ken, thanks for the reply. As the hotel’s full I’ve booked myself into a b&b called Vale Farm, Stoke Lane, Higham on the Hill, CV13 6ES, 01455 212236, 07977 915272. As at 7.30pm Sunday they had one more room available which can be a single or a twin, at £30 for 1 night or £50 for the 2 nights, including breakfast, if anybody’s interested. It’s about 15 mins from Sibson.

There is a slight change in the bar area of Millers since the last meeting. Thought I’d better advise as I paid a recent visit.

The whole of the bar area from the mill wheel up has now been dedicated as a non-smoking zone. Fortunately alcohol is still available.

This may well suit the non or ex-smokers, and as there are one or two that feel the need for the weed, I thought it prudent to make this public.

See you all on the day.
