I was trying to find the AMICA fault codes for none digital display machines as I have my first Amica call tomorrow but my Amica web site login is borked.
I did find the post from Martin but like all of the other old image links, all that was displayed was the url inside image tags.
Why won’t these just display as normal?
I edited Martin’s post by copying the url without the tags, then deleting the complete link including the img tags and then using the new image tag button was able to get the image back up on screen. Unfortunately it is now to big to fit in the smaller screen. 😥
Its funny why the old posts have apparently got the correct HTML but don’t display correctly. 😕

It’s actually fairly simple.
I sized the images for the old forums which were dynamic on the horizontal axis.
New forums, constrained to control the way that they are displayed like the rest site which allows far greater control over how things are displayed. But, it means that anything larger than the maximum permissible size/s won’t display as you expect.
It’s a trade off in terms of design control when you use a dynamic setting. It’ll come right with the new stuff but completely bork a lot of the old.

Ah, I see that explains why the large images went right off the screen.
Will just have to edit and resize any that I feel would be beneficial. 8)

Either that or just upload them as an attachment then you don’t have to muck about resizing. 😉

No, I meant any images that had been linked to in the older posts, some of those pics are invaluble for referring people to, it can save lots of time if you can do that rather than go into chapter and verse. The gunged up Bosch dishwasher pictures that Chris posted are one such example.
I have been using the direct upload to forum servers on Cableforum for many years. 😉

Yeah, but you can edit the original post and attach the images.

That should always be added to any edited post IMHO.
Still not showing for me, looking at older posts that have been edited from before the update they do display the time and date of the last edit but none of the posts made since the change over do. 😕

Your edit won’t show… moderator and all that.
Since users can now only edit for 60 mins (I think) after the post, they aren’t tampered with after that time.
Up till that point, dunno if it shows or not but I’ve seen a couple of edits. Dunno if the mods can see it.

I just edited Jim’s last post, it does not show that I have carried out an edit but it does show the action in the moderator log.
No need to worry Jim I have corrected my edit back to your original text 😉

I wasn’t referring to mod edits, just normal post edits that anyone could do on their own posts. There was no time limit on the old software but you could always see if a post had been edited unless it was the last post in the thread.
Most forums limit the time you can edit your post but even those list the times and even the number of edits to any post. After a set period of time the post can then not be edited.
Its not a major problem but it can disrupt the flow of a thread if a post has been substantially edited after other posts have been made and there is no notification of earlier edits.

It is one hour Jim.
I can see the edits as Admin but I dunno what others see without test permissions. 😕
And that, is wrecking my life in some ways ATM. 🙁

Its me again…. 😀
To stick or not to stick. There doesn’t seem to be an option to stick posts.
I thought it might be a good idea to stick the new waste regs that George has posted but if you go to edit post there is no button to use to select a sticky even though it mentions leaving the box blank or entering a number of days, that doesn’t do anything.
Having a look via the Edit button at some of the old Stickies from the previous forum they have four buttons at the bottom, one of which is a ‘Sticky’ button.
