🙂
Well, it’s do or die now! 😆
I don’t envy the shopping trip.
But I think I may be a tad busy tomorrow as the forums won’t be right all day I don’t think, depends on how fast they index TBH. :rolls:
It’s a pain but, it’s gotta get done.

Will the mod/admin be affected in any way.

TBH Jim, probably but I’m not quite sure just how yet. There will be a few new moderation tools available though, like the ability to warn users and place temporary bans etc.
I’ve still to explore it fully myself.

There’s certaily a lot more Jim, the quick mod menu will be a useful tool. Still yet to find the warning and temp ban though.
I see there is also a new rank, LMTGONWI is now rated as a super addict 😆

Jim,
Carrying on the conversation in the mods forum…
The ability for normal users to make a post “sticky” has been removed as some people abuse it and, some of them need to be zapped anyway. Hence me zapping some earlier as I noticed them as being a bit daft with no need to be sticky.
That might throw up the odd error sadly but saves us hassle in the longer term.

Totally agree re the sticky thing. I have unstuck many posts in the past, mainly in the Trade Tech forums TBH. :rolls:
I just wondered what the ‘Global’ option on a new post/thread was?
What is the situation with regard to uploading images. Are they severely restricted on size, will they appear as a thumbnail?
I did try to post one earlier but got a message saying the size of the image could not be calculated ( or something like that).
What happened to the auto correct we saw on the preview site?
PS. Stick with the orange, it looks fine to me. 😀

No clue on the images Jim, I’ve not had a chance to play with that yet and I can’t access the settings for it ATM as I’ve got the index running.
I like the damned orange and as sure as sh*t if I change it someone else’s nose will get out of joint. Old saying, you can’t please all the people…

The ? or information button is quite nifty, you can look up IP’s and don’t need to bother with Allnettools as it drags the whole RIPE info onto screen, very nice. 8)

And getting faster as the indexing finishes as well I see. 😀

Re images, I have just had a quick look round and all of the images posted on the old site have gone, only the original url inside images tags is displayed.
it is getting quicker though. 8)

We need to wait for the indexing to finish, then transfer the old images folder across to the new site, that’s why.

I’m just wondering how they will display, most of them will be far to big for the much smaller size of the post window, possibly thumbnails?????
Will it be possible to upload images directly to the forum servers once the new kit is installed?

The indexing is nearly complete and I’ve noticed a speed bump as well.
