Found it after looking around 😉
I see you have tidied up the ISE and Amica ones as well 8)
While I was posting in the tidying up thread just now I noticed that Users browsing the forum were Alex, don, shaun67 and 1 guest. One of developers maybe?

Okay, if anyone is on about login issues, then here’s a 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time will cure it article, if they read it HERE
The General Error 500 thing should be sorted as it had to be to allow me to do the subforums and stuff.
Speed, the code/database geeks are still working on so far as I’m aware.

The guest could be a bot.
Yes, I decided to really clean house as it were and, if I thought I’d get away with it I’d be doing something similar in the public forums as well with two distinct sections filled with forums for each category relating to sales and/or buying advice and product support.
So, what people would see is one for buying advice and one for support, each would them split down into the various sections.
That would really clean up the front page of the forums but I’m a bit wary about it. Dunno, what’s the consensus on it?
As for the trade stuff, the more I could clean that up the better I thought. But we will spend some time moving stuff to the correct forum as people get used to the new format I expect. All we can do is be nice and friendly and politely tell them that we’ve moved the post to the correct forum.

Not too keen on the search facility yet.
I am currently having a problem with a newish Hotpoint machine, door won’t lock etc.
There has been a thread recently about this pointing towards motor faults as a cause.
I have trawled through several pages of posts in the Tech forum ( click a link, go and have a cup of tea, come to see if the next page has loaded and so on )
I have looked back over helo_75’s posts as I am sure he posted about it but I can find nothing.Tried a search but if I enter Hotpoint and doorlock it rejects Hotpoint as too common and brings up a long list of doorlock posts on several other makes of appliance.
Also on the advanced search page there is a character you are supposed to use, its between the words by & into in the text below. What on earth is this character. ❓
Place + in front of a word which must be found and – in front of a word which must not be found. Put a list of words separated by | into brackets if only one of the words must be found. Use * as a wildcard for partial matches

| is SHIFT+forward slash on a Mac, no clue what it is on a Doze keyboard. I think it’s just a separator from memory.

I have just edited one of my posts for punctutation. Checking on the edited post I cannot see any notification that the post has been edited.
That should always be added to any edited post IMHO.
Jim.
PS. The blue does look a little better. 😀

All of the weird characters that we noticed when viewing the early previews are still there in the articles.

I know, I need to edit every single article, that’s gonna take some time and I’ve only done about 20 or so thus far. :rolls:

The new colour scheme does give a warmer effect, very similar to the old board and well recieved judging by the comments.
The tidying up looks good and makes the forum page much shorter and less cluttered.
From a selfish point of view as it’s only a small request in the greater scheme of things. I have no permissions to access the buying advice forum. Is it that it’s not ready yet? Can I have mod permissions to trade spares as well please.

What has happened to members e-mail addresses?
We used to be able to see them at the bottom of all posts.
I was going to send Mick George some tech info but cannot do so without his e-mail addy.
Going back and forwards via PM is a bit of a messy way round it.

Ah, I can see it ’cause I have Global Admin.
If the user chooses to hide their email then I’ll bet the icon doesn’t show up to anyone but admin. I’ll have a look see if I can alter the mods to be able to see it, if I can find the setting in the depths of options.
