Hi John I had never been to one of these before it was a real mess of fluff That is reason cleaned motor etc also a little bit nosey i am like that. What made me think it was the resistor i cant get any reading on it at all. should it be C/C or am i barking up the wrong tree. Should 4 terminals be C/C on stat. Horizontal terminals were O/C is that where the fault lies. Appreciate your help Thanks

ParticipantRe: HOTPOINT WF240
Thanks for reply Iadom cleaned buttons there is damage to them causing them to stick in the customer is disabled so after reading other threads i am going to put new buttons on and test motor. I did not know that if motor problem it would not fill so i never checked motor on visit 😳 Am still new to this game and learning every day. I hope it is just motor brushes but when i tested insulation was ok
Thanks again for info Rob

ParticipantRe: Hoover Washer/Drier Worn heater casing. Part Obsolete
Thanks Mike I have been giving it some thought overnite and am thinking of fitting a spring on the bottom of the Element then when the casing is closed it should keep it tight only worry is will it get to hot and heat the spring to much. Or would it be do any harm to the element if i just wrapped wire round a part of it to secure it.
If anyone else has any ideas i would like to hear them.Rob.

The casing i am talking about is the cast air duct on the top of the machine
Is there any way i can secure the element to stop it rattling about7390ROBERTS
