ParticipantRe: Stoves Richmond 900Ei
Seamy, Thanks.
Wasn’t sure on the rating and how it was achieved, thanks for confirming that.
I’ll give it a run tomorrow and see if it blows then, are those temperatures in your experience excessive?
Thanks
Jo

Hi Seamy,
Thanks for the response. How would I know whether the cooling fans are coming on? Are you a engineer or consumer?
I’ll give them a chase up via email I think as they keep sending the same engineers who won’t accept there is a problem but I think that the outer temperatures whether in line with regulation or not are excessive for a ‘A’ rated new appliance.

ParticipantRe: HOTPOINT UE47X
Thanks Guys, have had a route on the internet and there appears to be conflicting views on guarantees, so not sure on that one!!!!
Anyway have e-mailed Hotpoint and voiced my concerns, I still feel that a oven that cost over £400 should and is only 19 months old should be covered by warranty, anyway! Back to the problem. If nothings comes from Hotpoint then I will look at repairing myself, I have the tools and a basic knowledge of how things should work and can work to instructions, so!
I’m going to take out the element and test for continuity I assume??? I know there is power to it as I’ve checked that.
When I turn the oven on its makes a whirring/humming type noise however the fan that is located in the middle of the element doesn’t turn, should it turn at all times???
If the element proves to be ok, where do I go from there?
Also for my ease how do you remove the door, I’ve locked the hinges but this doesn’t seem to release the upper arms like I thought?? If I can remove the door it will be easier for working on?
Again Many Thanks for your help.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi FL 1085
If thats the case is it worth doing the bearings or scrapping the machine????

ParticipantRe: Zanussi FL 1085
Thanks, as I say I’m sure it wasn’t noisy but feel its worth a new belt! The machine isn’t that old!!!
If the bearings are shot I assume it will need a new motor????
Do the belts jump off occasionally???

Not really rumbling!
Tried feeding it on but really struggling, would it help if I cable tied it to the big pulley on the back of the drum then cut it off later???
