    Re: Hotpoint Belt Fitting Tool

i have a great easy way of doing the condenser dryers, explaining it might be the difficult part but ill give it a go.

fit belt round drum, remove fan assy and remove the bolt nearest you for the jockey, loosen the bolt at the back of the jockey but not all the way, now unhook the jockey and push it away from you as far as it goes, slide the belt into place then grab the wheel of the jockey, pull it back towards you, you will notice there is a lip on the pulley which fits into the motor, once its lined up hook it into motor, refit bolt (sometimes need to move pulley up or down a touch to line up hole) and tighten both bolts

rebuild and test, my record for fitting a new belt is 7 minutes 🙂

    Kev.

    Re: Hotpoint Belt Fitting Tool

i have the tool but prefer using a 13mm nut runner, push through belt and slip motor into runner lever down and twist runner while sliding belt over onto motor.

id suspect the wee orange cables are damaged, can also be a top led board fault, not that expensive

id be inclined to think more to do with motor imo, however lock could be suspect

Re: Hotpoint WMUD 10637 washing machine

its not a main board fault, however fitting a new board will cure it 🙂

the machine thinks its full so wont bring on valve, you need to either trick it into recognising water again like iandom details in his guide.

otherwise you need to reprogram the board which obviously without an emit it pretty difficult 🙁

the small dc module controls the motor, pretty common to go, usually caused by motor arcing or overloading 🙂

yeah 100bit timers on these are very prone to no heat faults

Al08 just means time out heating

im guessing thats a typo and intact you “don’t” want it catching fire 😀

not a common fault as far as I’m aware, intact it appears mines was dodgy panel installation with screws going straight into loom 😳

luckily enough it was the ford dealer who did the panelling or i could have in bother :rolls:

madangler1 wrote:Is this the new transit custom ?

My transit was in a ford dealer last week for its service and they had one of the new customs in pieces, dash and all seats out, when I was talking to the mech he said it had an issue where some wires chafe on the body under the dash, in fact I’m sure he said its something to so with the air bag as well.

yeah transit custom m8, mines was in 3 weeks previously for a wiring fault, initially in the rear where the wires run along for brake lights however it also needed the control module replaced as it had blown, the tech told me these new ones dont have fused protection on some of the components :rolls:

    thats the one 🙁

the black stuff you see on the grass is the tools etc i managed to save, didn’t quite factor in the van exploding and all my stuff catching fire 🙁

I’m fine tho tools & stock can be replaced 🙂

the guys at ford said i was lucky to get out as the door locks are electric and could have jammed closed 😯
