Thanks Martin. I’ll have another tinker with it as it seems too good to throw just yet.

It is WTW84560GB/12 FD 9101 200523. At the bottom is, I presume, the serial number: 461010252361005231

Hi Martin
Thanks for your post – very droll! 🙂
Having removed the top and sides, I checked the seating and cleaned the seals I could see. I ran it again with no side and top (I was careful not to touch anything) and the machine behaved itself until very near to the end of the cycle (the last two minutes). I could see where the water had come from and am making an assumption that the electromagnetic switch is allowing too much water to come through the bottom of the removable condenser water trough (both where the leak is and the elecromagnetic switch are very close to each other). I did see the part (9000411646) on Germany’s eBay but that had sold and I’ve not seen any anywhere else. I’ve posted a picture and you can see a couple of spots of water by the earth cable – the rest of the water was underneath and this part of the machine is near the top.
Thanks

Thanks Merv, that’s great. Why on earth they can’t put stuff like that in the manual I don’t know!

Hi Bob
Yes it is buff coloured. It just seemed so flimsy my natural reaction was to take it out! It looks a bit “heath-robinson” – rectangular with a corner removed.
Also when I warmed up a cup of tea for 10 secs, it carried on making a noise (like it was cooking) after the beeper had sounded but the turntable was not going round. Does this sound normal?
I probably sound like a total thicko but neither of my previous ovens did that (the last one was 12 years old so no doubt they’ve changed since then!).
Grateful for any advice.

Good effort jonmay!
Wish I’d found that link – my old Bosch is now well and truly in that fridge mountain. However, being a glutton for punishment I’ve since bought another one so I’ll keep the link as it’ll probably come in handy in about 6 years time!!!!! 😉

I was hoping you weren’t going to say that!! Is it a costly repair (assuming I can find someone to assist)?!!

ParticipantRe: faulty bosch fridge freezer
Thanks Penguin but no repairmen locally. After reading other posts, I’ve taken off the inside back panel and defrosted the area with a hairdryer and allowed the unit to thaw naturally.
The freezer has gone back down to -18 but at least once a day it rises again, sometimes to about -5, I can hear the compressor kicking in but it stops with a judder and this can repeat for quite some time.
Do you think it’s likely to be a faulty compressor or something controlling it?
Grateful for any advice as it seems a shame to throw away something that otherwise works and looks fine.

My 6 yr old Bosch FF has just decided to go too! ENR KGU3201GB/01. Can anyone supply the details of an engineer close to postcode ST13 5SB? If so please email beverly.northcott@britannia.co.uk as I can only read this forum until 9am Monday after which time I’ll be away for a couple of days.
Thanks in anticipation.

ParticipantRe: Creda 37747 Condenser Tumble Dryer
Just a quick one to let you know that the new capacitor and thermostat bits arrived promptly and I had no problem fitting them. The machine works perfectly.
Thanks yet again for your money-saving assistance.

Excellent and good value too. The only problem was that when I was establishing the fault, I knocked open the door whilst it was going so I’ll be ordering some more thermostat bits!!
Thanks again – I’ll get ordering.

I have every faith after thinking I’d have to ditch the machine last time. It has been a good servant but if I can keep it going a bit longer it would help especially given post-Christmas credit card bills… 😥
Thanks anyway – now off to have a drink after crawling around the utility room floor for most of the evening. 😉

Penguin – Thanks
Clyde – You’re right!
I assume it’s the one I’ve just found next to the motor. It’s white, 3″ long and 1.5″ in diameter with a bolt thread out of the end. Markings:
