Hi
The most probable cause will be due to corrosion on the back of the display PCB and the multi plug connection.
You could try to clean them off with a suede brush but its possible if they are very badly corroded then the pins may break off. either way you wouldn’t lose anything as the controls would reset to default -20 and +3.

i fitted a new one for this customer about 7 years ago, i managed to get one off an old hotpoint engineer, such a shame to see this one go as i have been maintaining it for years, i even worked on the one she had previous, oh well ill tell her to buy a black arm band

Your receipt would be your report and it does not need to go in-depth. BUT if the manufacturer is requiring a full report of your findings then you are fully entitle to charge for that to be done and supplied.

There is no actual qualifications to become a whitegoods engineer. It is either learnt by trial and error or with a company.

These photos are not actually dents.They are of the expanding foam which you cannot guarantee a full even expansion.There is no actual fault with either the door or liner.

Yes top will be needed to be removed, dependent an your agility the front control bezel and machine front will also need to come off.

The water tank which is behind the salad containers will most likely be frozen.
This will require a repair kit which we hold in stock. samsung@ffrservices.co.uk
Defrost the water tank very slowly by leaving the unit switched off with the fridge door open else a direct heat can cause the tank to split.
