part of the Vac down procedure it states, to switch on the fridge compressor, obviously whist vac-ing down
What a load of bullocks.
Vac down to -1 atmosphere and that will remove any of the air in the system.

Nothing will be done by the manufacturers until somebody sues and wins some big numbers or they are forced to by regs

They have been several times running into 10’s thousands . Ask samsung.
At the end of the day..If theres a fire NOTHING is going to stop a fridge going up same as a washing machine,tv,chairs,settee’s ect.. they all burn and the cause is normally as previously stated.. What about carpet’s that are man made and those give off more toxic fumes all over the house.
But it is more scare mongering to get the headlines.. simple

60g by weight but use 66g as new compressor bur that is a guide as the pipework used to charge can change the weight required but it should be 66g

It’s not the fridges that cause the fire..
That’s a secondary aftermath. most likely caused by the people using inadequate extension leads or bad ones or electrical faults elsewhere but its easier to blame something thats already been in the news for better headlines.

That depends on you.. Cost with the manufacturers is £129 inc all parts.
Local engineer (depends on where you are) plus they may not know where to get the parts.

My original question was has anyone had trouble with door seals coming off. you said no, so I am looking at why it is coming off
Employee’s yanking the whole load out at once is really the only answer and or overloading it..
If it works correctly when you have it in the workshop then charge for the wasted calls and time.
