I have never seen one of theise spiders break and have done hunreds of them. Either something between drum or a broken bearing.
Buy the way the easiest way to get the bolts out is in a piller drill. I use a drill bit set from machine mart and co bolt tiped and the 8mm bit will last ages. But that is on the piler drill. If I use it in my cordless drill, appart from being hard work the bits dont last long at all. 😀Alan1476

HI
IF there is a slight earth leakage on theise machines they will not switch on. Try drying the appliance out with the hair dryer first if all earth leakage disapeers and machine dont switch on looks like a module fault assuming you have checked for all the obvious like loose cables where thery go on the user interface board Ect.

HI there
Had this problem in the past. First megger all components seperatly any earth leakage will give you a fault like that. Secondly check for continuity between pressure switch and pcb also tighten the duitones on the module and check the wires on the heater, Give them a firm tug what normaly happens is the cables look fine but break down inside. If a remember correctly they are brown and black (black one normaly breaks). If after all that I looks like a module fault. Note sometimes you can unsolder the EEPROM Be carefull?? And put it in the new module. Otherwise you have to buy a new one of have a blank one re written by a hotpoint indesit enginner.
Hope to have been some help
