O.K. This filler rubbish thing.
What do we feel is a waste of space in an otherwise excellent programme. Don’t say Clarkson, like him or loath him, there is a good mix; from his bullishness, to the tranquility of Captain Slow, then the Hamster fills that gap.
My vote goes to a “star in a reasonably priced car”. What is the point in it all? Leave the chat shows to Parky. This week summed it up having Fat Tongue Boy, Jamie Oliver.

Do you remember the origin and ethos behind this posting. If not trawl back into history on this topic.
It all relates to Penguin and I having Latin signatures, and a certain person from Rob Roy territory got freaked out by it all.
Take a look at this, is this latin? I don’t think so!
What the hell is this lot……………..

Chris.I thought that was the euphamism for Wallace Arnold coach tours? We call them cauliflower tours, reason being the little old ladies on the coaches, their white permed hair looks like a cauliflower.

Didn’t think they had been out that long?
Is it not in year 1, some have a 3 year warranty, and others have a 5 year, depending on retailer.

Point I am making though is that we are deciding to spend money belonging to the masses without their knowledge. Surely we should be asking the subscibers for a vote on spending subs this way. I know the cost is bugger all but we might get some grief if it was open knowledge later that we spent funds in this way.
JohnMost certainly the subscribers need to be aware as to what & why this is happening, I’m almost tempted to say we should name & shame the guy.
To be honest I see no reason why we cannot just tell the lady that Tony Clifton by means of default has been removed from Repairs@. She may get satisfaction in that alone, and the rest is up to her. After all if she wants to escalate the affair direct with Tony C, than so be it; CCJ, Trading Standards, Citizens Advice or solicitors letter, whatever suits her.

I am afraid changing gaskets on the Zanussi Washer dryer or even the washers is not easy. You normally have to take the whole drum out to put the gasket in.
RegardsTake the tub/drum out! Where did that come from?
Takes less than 10 mins to fit a standard door seal with all in situ from the front. I admit with the w/dryer there is an art to it, but should be done in under an hour including cup of tea, paperwork & safety tests etc.

Well, I’m glad I showed them the door when they cold called on me to become an agent. They owed me money from a previous affair, and I made sure I would get retribution.
Their guy handed me a C.D. and I ceremoniously went and fetched the waste bin and dropped his disc into it, then told him to get off my premises.
Made my day.

Thoughts gentlemen. Oh ! and John tooWith or without predudice, as soon as we make the offer, we could appear liable. I’m sure all is kosher with this customer, however we don’t know if this could escalate and we become resposible for even more; dangerous terrirory, and we need to step back from it.
I’m not too bothered if we do pay it, not my money directly, but I really feel it is up him to sort this. I thought our brief was to arbitrate and assist towards an amicable conclusion for all parties.
Best course of action is what we have done to date. He signed up knowing the T&C’s and our role, if he didn’t read it, then his tough whassisname. He can still be booted off as he clearly has tried to wriggle out of his obligations, and tried not to honour the agreement laid as down.

JohnI think he ought to do both. This woman could well be trouble, and perhaps being over the top, but to restore his name etc. he needs to get rid of her, and the best way is a refund. If it was me, I would actually add a bunch of flowers as well. Works wonders with a woman.

If it is any help, we have 3, and all 3 have had the same problems, exactly as National Homecare, Tyres, G/Boxes, as well as rear axles and the locking arrangement on the sliding doors. They have a 3 year warranty including servicing, but the Berlingos and Partners I use still come out cheaper. Partly because the initial cost was neary 4k less, and I sure don’t spend that on servicing & repairs.
Another irritation is the fuel tank is rather small, and have to be filled every other day.

I note he said the machine could not be repaired, neither the customer of the Meile engineer would agree with that I’m sure.
Hand on heart, how many of us in reality are unable to complete a call? Yes it happens but very rare, and I cannot think of any where we have thrown the towel in. In this case it WAS repairable, and he got it wrong. We all do, and hopefully not very often. I think he ought to put his hand in his pocket. If he really has a problem regards refunds, using the excuse that he would never make money, tells me this a regular event.
If we anticipate a problem on a machine that we are not overly familiar with, then we tend not to take it on, or would accept the fact it is beyond our skills and not bill the customer.
I’m with the customer on this one.

We run 3 of them. Engineers love them, but not value for money. They will be 3 years old in May. All vans bought since have been Peugeot Partners, get them for less than 6K new and far more reliable.
With the Transits, biggest concern is excessive front tyre wear. In the early days were replacing front tyres after 3,000 miles. Now getting about 9k and have to have the tracking reset at every visit to the tyre fitters, as well as at every service. Take a look at the link.
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/cwunwandcs/S … it_con.htm
Gearboxes are another weak link. Suddenly and without warning the clutch fails to operate. There is a slave cylinder mounted in the box, which needs the G/box out to repair/replace. Local independents won’t take it on, main dealer admits a good day’s work. The gear change arrangement is via cables from the gear shift, and those are problematical as well. Fortunately they have a 3 yr warranty.
The support from Ford has been rubbish as well, I complained regards the tyres, and all they sent was a questionnare regards the dealership that looked into it in the first place.
If buying second hand, I’d ask to see service history. If no action on Clutch G/Box, forget it.
