My local currys has a Samsung WiFi touchscreen Washing machine with auto dosing … not cheap , 1200euro!!
thats what I would get if i won the lotto. But the Candy Wi-Fi one would most probably suffice for the poor person’s equivelant

ah right thats interesting – they do a wi-fi version as well in europe, I wonder whats that like. Maybe they will stick with that one. Seen it on youtube but havent seen it on any UK site. Maybe they dont market it for UK yet

I’m not by any means stating buying a machine for 50 programmes is worth it as chances are that most of them are the same or similar, but it doesn’t make the person a muppet because they get a machine with cycles other than your standard care label ones as they can and do prove useful for washing certain items or for convenience such as a quick wash, drum clean etc.
I couldnt find a like or thumbs up button for this post , but I totally agree

😆 – candy smart touch 9KG for only 250quid in Argos – sure thats nothing you could pay a lot more than that for a machine without any connectivity .. and even if it dont last for years and years it hasnt broken the bank has it?

These Candy Smart ones have something like 40 to choose from and you can download them and transfer them to the washing machine by NFC – absolutely cool!Andy, please take this the right way, tongue firmly in cheek, but…
That’s the most pointless drivel I’ve read in ages. 😉
Wash programs for clothing are determined by the GINETEX, HLCC and in the UK the UK Fashion & Textile Association.
They are NOT set by washing machine makers.
Therefore, unless all those organisations change something (extremely unlikely) there is absolutely and utterly, absolutely no point or use in downloading new programs as they don’t exist.
If you do, you’re using a wash program that is not approved by the detergent manufacturers or the textile industry so, if they wreck stuff… tough on you.
So all those “cool” programs, completely useless tripe to part idiots that don’t know any better from their cash for BS that they don’t need… bluntly put.
So any of your friends and neighbours that have the gumption to research this or, happen across this post will know what it’s all about and may well just think… what a muppet. 😉
Then as they know that, might try to extract some cash from you as you clearly have more of that than sense.
Now I know that all might seem harsh but I’m trying to get the message through to yourself and others that follow that this stuff is complete and utter BS, a total waste of your money.
K.
Wow!! – sounds like its really hit a raw nerve, There are loads of electronic things on the market these days with ‘pointless’ features, if you thought like that no-one would buy anything new and the manufacturers wouldnt bother keeping their products updated with the newest features available to the consumer.
You say gullible people who fall for these features are muppets … some people might have the attitude that dont embrace these new features are maybe luddites! and sheep followers.
No, I praise companies like Candy pushing the boudries, we already have smart features on ovens, fridges and dishwashers , why should not the washing machine manufacturers now think out of the box and offer consumers more features than the present 15 programmes and offer other features to integrate with mobile phones?
Thats a very bold OTT statement that if they are offering more programmes (not approved by someone) that its could wreck garments I wont go as far as thinking that is complete and utter BS myself … but I still think thats an OTT statement all the same

… but with one caveat I will never ever go back to a washing machine ever again that uses brushes on its motor. The noisy squeal and everything as it spins, no way hosé – that s where I am stuffed with something like this Candy Smart washing machine because as far as I can tell (at the moment) is that the smart ones (well the UK sourced ones) all use motors with Brushes in the motor. Fancy bringing out a lovely machine like that with so many features and putting a plain ol’ brush type motor on it!
I emailed Candy support to ask them which washing machines in their smart range had brushless quiet induction motors and they emailed back a couple of GV number washing machines. – I emailed back that these were not the ‘Smart’ NFC models , that was a week ago and never got another reply.

ParticipantPing pong ball in sump hose Indesit Innex
hello. Indesit Innex XWE91483
Are these supposed to have the white plastic ping pong ball (cannot remember the correct name for it :rolls: ) in the black rubber sump hose in this machine , oly I have tipped the machine on its end and I cannot feel the ping pong ball through the hose like you normally can. – I know some engineers have actually removed these in the past but would the manufacturer have removed them these days?
Thanks.

OH right OK, sorry I must have missed that (or forgotten it) its only that I successfully done it on the larger linear digital one on the Hotpoint that I thought this switch might have a screw inside it the same. Never mind .
I got to get out of this mindset that less water in the drum will still wash the clothes just as good and not ruin the clothes with the minuscule amount of water in the drum. – maybe I should put on the wash and not look at it 😆 then I wont be able to unsee what I see and I wont worry about it …

ParticipantRe: how to get full 1400rpm spin speed on Indesit Innex 1hr
Thanks all for your replies – I suppose I shall have to put up with it and carry on selecting full 14,000rpm spin after a 1hr wash then as i have been doing – shame these indesits havent got any secret onboard service codes (press 3 buttons on fascia) for the eeprom that you can get into and modify washes like some other machines have

Participanthow to get full 1400rpm spin speed on Indesit Innex 1hr wash
Indesit Innex xwe91483 – anyone know the reason why Indesit has made it so you cannot select the full 1400rpm maximum spin speed on a 1hr rapid wash? only lets me select 1000rpm as a maximum even though machine goes up to 1400rpm
I was thinking it must be a time thing, so that it can do a wash in an hour and then I thought well it cannot take much longer to spin at 1400rpm as oppsed to 1000rpm – so is that what it is or is there some other reason they done it that way.
To me it defies logic, I have to change programme afterwards and select a 1400rpm spin speed after the wash to spin it more
Thanks.

ParticipantRe: replacing water level switch on Hotpoint washing machine
Thank you for your reply and your advice ….. I most probably will adjust the new one again (but not down as much) because thats just what I do, I like tinkering :tools: and at factory default there simply isnt enough water level in the drum for my liking when washing. I had it just right with water level coming up to lip of door gasket but the other day I just went that bit further and screwed it a bit more to get it over the lip and then got error when rinsing , but then couldnt screw it out again.
Thanks again for your reply and help.andy_from_ireland
