ParticipantHi Guys,
I have never had this problem and to be frank I haven’t a clue about what is being discussed in this thread.
Alternator mechanism??? Water point motor???Has anybody got any pictures. so that I may be elucidated and perhaps learn something new. I may need it in the future.

ParticipantKent left two messages for me to call them back. When I did they asked me to to make up my own password then and there. I don’t know why Kent should be looking after me. I am in the Skye area. But I do appreciate it.
I think it was Kirsty that sorted things out for me try, giving Sittingbourne a call and forget the agent.

Phidom wrote:I didn’t know you could order direct from Qualtex, I thought they only dealt with their agents such as Crum & Sons in Glasgow. When I first started out I used to get my spares from Crums but half the time they would send the wrong stuff. 😕

By the way if you want stuff at the prices quoted in the “Summer 2008 Offers” brochure, you will need to phone it through because the web site price is considerably more, and doesn’t get adjusted automatically.
Kent staff told me that they weren’t given an opportunity to see the site before it went live. They tell me that had they got the chance they would have corrected some of the glaring errors such as lack of descriptions and no alternative part numbers. But they did assure me that they were working on trying to solve the problems ASAP.

ParticipantThanks Bryan that’s what I was hoping to hear. If it ain’t broke don’t fix-it. When in doubt apply common sense.

ParticipantRe: Samsung On Watchdog!
I must declare an interest in this. …. I have owned one of these since October 2005. and never been aware of any problems. But after reading this thread I got the digital thermometer out.
Can you guys be a little clearer, is there or is there not a fundamental fault with this model?? I can’t believe that there is no drain hole as implied in by the Watchdog “expert”. Because I’m sure it would not have lasted nearly 2 and a half years if that were the case.

ParticipantI’ll take ’em at 18/6 to the £1, just post them up. 😆 😆 😆

ParticipantA quick update on the fault, It turned out to be a loose connection on the comms cable. A bit of tweeking and everything is OK.
But, am I likely to get this fault again, would I be wiser to order a new cable? or would a new cable not really make much of a difference since it’s the connection to the board that is suspect? Thanks for the info Chris, now got them in my phone book.

thanks hotpnt, I’ll call tomorrow PM, if I can’t sort it I’ll send another post begging for help. I can’t remember the name of the firm that repair/refurbish boards I have used them once but can’t find their contact details. should it be necessary.
