If this customer lives in an area that requires no salt, it must be a soft water area….
Finish Powerball gives loads of problems, I always tell customer to pluck out the ball. Because it doesn’t always devolve and flush away properly which leaves the next fill with a dose of rinse-aid sitting in the bottom ready to foam up.

The correct model number certainly helps. No wonder I couldn’t find any parts on Qualtex. I think my eyes still had tears in them from trying to to get the machine out.David

ParticipantRe: whats heavier?
As an Ex Lift engineer of 20years plus standing, let me re-assure you that the design loading of the average lift. Is, in old money, 150lbs per person per sq/ft. This of course takes account that it is just possible to stand an adult in a single square foot, a second person is cosy, a third as the saying goes is crowded. A fourth we are bordering on intimate. Five is an orgy.
So for the sake of decency all lift manufacturers designate a the load plate of the lift to allow for a “strangers comfort zone”. But it still has a design load of 150lb / sqft.
So you can put you Bosch in and sit on it for both comfort and security.
Interestingly the thing that is always replaced the most often is the load plate. Especially those saying Max Load 2 persons or 3 persons. I can’t think why they kept disappearing.

ParticipantRe: Hygena 8122 fault
If you have everything switched off and the machine trips the ring when plugged in, then this would suggest that there is a short circuit between live and neutral or live and earth.
Very likely to be the mains suppressor. All machines have then (they are a legal requirement, stops your machine interfering with your neighbours telly.) If it has gone, usually but not always, it is obvious, you may well find a big hole blown in the side. If it is not clear you can safely bypass it for testing purposes only. There is also the possibility that there is water in the base of the machine from your previous fault, and it is shorting out. Check this first.
BEFORE DOING ANYTHING MAKE SURE THE MACHINE IS UNPLUGGED.

ParticipantRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
I’ll often ask a customer to put an outside light on if they have one.
There’s not many outside lights on during the day.
Except during the winter, when people don’t want to come home to a dark front door so have so left the light on when they went to work in the morning. 😕 😕
But it can work sometimes.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool 3RAWZ480E MQO
I don’t know this model But is it a “Full Commercial” or “Semi Commercial” ? I have had similar problems in the past with the older “semi” commercials.
Mine was also replaced under warrenty by the supplier. When the second machine started to play up. (It took a while, presumably because there was a nice motor) I contacted Whirlpool they informed me that not only were semi’s not intended for commercial use but were only intended to give the domestic user the benefits of a commercial machine. ie large drum etc, ect. The upshot to all of this is, that the motors are under-rated for commercial use, and when buying one of these, the customer should contact Whirlpool for advice on the model that suits their cycle rate. That is to say how many times the machine will be used Per Week So in my particular case, the machine was designed to do 15 loads a week, and the small hotel was doing 4/5 loads per day. ie 28/35 loads per week.
If you have a similar situation, then changing the TOC or even the motor is not going to help. You will need to upgrade the motor if possible. In my case the small hotel bought a second machine and stopped washine on a Sunday………. Not had any problems since.

sounds like the model coding may have gone out of sink. if you ever have to change the pcb on most bosch dishwashers you have to programme the correct model coding, if you dont the kind of fault you mentioned occurs.
I couldn’t find anything in the “Stickys”. So could anybody tell me how to reprogramme the model coding. Or is it just a matter of holding the reset button?
Thank David

ParticipantThanks for that Bzz67, will I find how to programme the correct code in the stickys ? I’ll try a search.

Any takers on this please guys, I’m not geared up for system faults, if it is that. So do I tell the customer that it is BER.
Cheers David.

ParticipantThanks Bob,
Problem is on this model I can’t locate the defrost timer. At least it is not at the rear where most are positioned. I assumed that the defrost was taken care of by the stat.David
