    Re: GW709 won’t spin correctly

A further update. The machine is still failing to spin at full speed correctly – the first time round, although it will eventually spin at full speed – after several attempts. All suspension points have been lubricated, hot & cold valves replaced (they seem to be stuffed anyway), the RPS sensor replaced, the OOB switch has been checked & lubricated, all wiring inspected & another motor controller board fitted – without success. One thing noted, when I removed the inner bowl, the outer plastic housing (that the inner bowl rotates within) has severe scoring from the inner bowl perforations – some have almost ‘scored’ though the entire outer bowl housing. The bearings appear to be OK. Just wondering if an ‘out of balance’ inner bowl is causing my spinning woes & how this might be the cause?

Just an update. The problem still remains. One thing that has been noticed – when the problem occurs, a bucket load of static comes through the TV set – the girlfriend informs when the problem is occuring, as she is watching the TV. Back to the drawing board I feel. As I’m typing this, the machine is doing its ‘run up and shut down – and run up again’ routine. 🙁

Does the washer rumble to a stop ?
if So i would Say it Is a Problem with the Suspension
Suspension Gets very Tight not allowing washer to get up to full Speed
You can try Greasing but in the end the only resolution maybe to Replace supension

Thanks bigsmokepiker. I have applied some lubricant to all the suspensions units and the washer seems to be spinning OK. Also noted that it seems to spin quieter as well. I can’t see how this has possibly fixed the problem, as the bowl didn’t seem to be out of balance at all. However, if it works, then all’s well.

    Re: F&P IW709 washer – noisy bearings

Thanks guys. The inner bowl is distorted on the plastic ring that is on top of the stainless steel section. I’ll check the motor for security & the suspension rods as suggested. If neither of these work, are inner bowls expensive? I have removed a bowl from a similar machine before, but never the seal or bearings. If required, are seals/bearings difficult to replace?
    Cheers

    Re: F&P IW709 washer – noisy bearings

Hi. I have a GW709 that also makes horrendous ‘clacking’ type sounds on spin, accompanied by severe vibration (also makes the same horrendous noise and vibrations during spin without any clothes in it). The top of the inner bowl seems to be slightly distorted as well, which I think may have damaged the bearings through imbalance. I would also love to know how hard it is to change the bearings as it might need a new inner bowl & I would change the bearings & seal at the same time.
    Cheers

Re: F&P GW703 Diagnostic mode and water valve problems

Thanks Penguin45. I had already replaced both valves, so I don’t suspect the new ones. I have actually been using the machine & it seems to be working OK, except for the lack of the two ‘beeps’ when entering the diagnostic mode and the minor problem of the water flow during the wash (initially fills OK). I suspect that the reconditioned motor controller may not be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} serviceable, but I’ll live with it for the time being. I have now given the machine to my partners mother & she seems happy with it, so I’ll just cross my fingers. 8)

Re: F&P 703 Will not spin at high speed (medium speed on

Hi quick update. I just tried the machine again (after I thought I fixed the spin problem), but the fault is back again. I have run the machine empty on the ‘Heavy Duty’ selection and the ‘Fast’ spin LED is illuminated, but the machine will only go to medium speed (I can select the medium speed while it is spinning & there is no change in RPM). If I select the speed up to illuminate the ‘Fast’ LED again, still no increase in spin speed. I have also noted that when I go into the diagnostic mode, I don’t get the two beeps. I’m tearing my hair out with this one.
    Cheers

Re: F&P 703 Will not spin at high speed (medium speed on

Update folks. Out of sheer desperation, I changed the pump and the machine will now go to full spin speed!!! The pump checked out OK with a multimeter (33.2 ohms) and is an open circuit to the frame (no shorts), but it obviously wasn’t right somehow. Only problem that remains is that when I go into the diagnostic mode, I don’t get the two short beeps & fault code 132 remains displayed. But I’m slowly getting there I think (if only I knew what code 132 means). Cheers

Re: F&P 703 Will not spin at high speed (medium speed on

Hi. Thanks for the tips (have been away, so it’s taken me a while to get back)to it. Just borrowed a spare motor module and a spare display module & tested again – same result. I can cycle the spin speed through the various speeds, but ‘medium’ speed is as fast as it will go (irrespective of the wash program selected). The machine has been run completely empty, has been levelled correctly & the agitator & bowl turn easily by hand. I checked for fault codes again & this time it appears to come up with code ‘132’. Any ideas?
