ParticipantRe: Cylinda FT 22 drum noisy
Just to confirm, belt slip was the issue here. Emery paper on the drum pulley shine made a big difference. Belt will be replaced. Thank you all for constructive ideas and suggestions!

Sigh, five weeks of delivery time on a new belt. I’ll try the emery paper suggestion tonight, perhaps it will be enough until the new belt arrives.

Belt slip would explain a lot, e.g. load = noise, no load = no noise. I think I’ll go ahead and try to find a new belt.

Last night I washed wool with the wool program (lots of water) and it was noisy as ever. This morning after reading the replies (thanks guys) I removed the belt and examined the drum pulley. Feels fine, firm, no noise. I then started a program without the belt and grabbed the small pulley on the motor shaft, glove on. I could grab it and squeeze to the point it nearly stopped, no bad sound but sometimes it felt strange, not sure if the pulley/shaft stopped spinning OR if the pulley slipped on the motor shaft? The outer side of the pulley is not flush with the motor shaft end side. Perhaps I could try to hit the pulley with a wood piece and hammer?
Even stranger: after reattaching the belt everything is silent! Can’t get the noise back, great! But, I have a feeling it will return…
I have to check the possible issue with the pulley on the motor shaft, or what do you think?

I posted on the forum back in 2007 or so regarding a Bosch dishwasher, yes. But this thread is about my Cylinda washing machine. I got very few hits searching for Cylinda so it makes sense to hear that this brand is perhaps not sold in the UK.

The NTC sensor measures fine (~10 kohms @ 20 degress) so the PCB logic appears messed up. I’ve ordered a new one from Bosch’s e-shop. This is my second Bosch appliance that fails due to a control module error within 5 years of use. Weak.

Problem solved. Wasn’t the aquastop. See link to original topic mentioned earlier in this thread.

Got bored at analytical and logical thinking. Stared at the bloody thing. Whacked the front near the control panel with my right fist. The drain pump stopped. (!) Whacked it again, started, again, stopped. So, the PCB is the problem. It doesn’t seem to be something wrong with the connectors as fiddeling with them gives no result. The PCB looks fine, can’t see any bad joints, black areas or similar. So it must be inside one of the relays, triacs or whatever the black cubes sitting there consist of.
Can a dish washer sound beautiful?
A million thanks to you guys responding to a lost Swede, for all helpful thoughts and advise and for pointing me towards the PCB. Although hoses are fun too. Btw my co-workers heard I was up 3 am rinsing a water matrix, asked me to see a doctor.

Martin, thanks for your reply.
Sorry I’m a bit confused, when you say inlet valve, do you mean in the aquastop unit itself or the inlet valve in the machine? Because the wires must be for supplying power to the valve in the Bitron device?
Aside from the tap connection, my Aquastop device only have one light-grey rubber hose (water supply hose) and one black cable, both connected to the machine. The water supply hose and the black cable runs in a ribbed gray outer-hose.
There is no smaller clear hose, or is it so small I could have missed it? Will re-check when I’m back home tonight.
Anyway, from your explanation I understand that the Aquastop system could not not really trigger the drain pump. Only the float switch or possibly a faulty control board can?

A washer machine… oops sloppy reading late at night. Sorry about that.
Just one more thing. The manual doesn’t explain how to start the test program but I think it starts by pressing the two reset button while turning on the main switch. Two leds starts to flash, can’t really tell what’s happening during the test cycle, acts kind of random, bu afterwards if you press buttons on the control panels, digits appear on the display. One button gives a “1” in the display. Could it inidicate an aquastop problem? I have seen something about error code 1 on Bosch meaning aquastop failure. My machine tajes in water for sure but what if the pressure is bad? Can the aquastop unit activate the drain pump via the cables from the aquastop to the machine? Pressing another buttons on the control panel makes the display show “188”.

Perhaps you’re right. Hm, puzzled if I’m to take my chances and replace the board my self for €100. The problem may go away, or not. Or to call in engineering which will be twice the cost minimum.
There was another thread “Bosch WET2820GB/13 – Filling and draining” describing a machine with symptoms very similar tp mine. But there, changing the board didn’t help. The problem was due to a “broken wire”. Wonder which one?

One other thing… when I turn on the main switch and press the two buttons on the control panel to RESET, the time indicator goes to “0” but the drain pump doesn’t stop. Also, if I open the door, the pump is still running. Again, no water is visible inside the machine (only under the filters down low in the sump) and the base plate is dry and clean.

Edele, which wire was broken? I have the exact same problem with my machine.
