ParticipantI took the drawer out, removed the actuators- dismantled same- checked the motor continuity by looking for voltage(very small reading) when spinning it by hand on my multimeter(I couldn’t get any continuity(beep) when using the ohm setting. Was meticulous in setting both to the same length when refitting and ran the machine empty and it worked. Still won’t change program but I can live with the Rapid wash. I did notice on removal that one of the actuator arms was loose and longer than the other despite me thinking I had checked all that when I did this same exercise the other day. Proof of the pudding will be will it do a full wash and keep doing same. No doubt I will be back if it doesn’t!

ParticipantDave- based on the flashing lights on the control panel when you open the drawer after it starts beeping and the red light shows the rapid wash and rinse lights are illuminated. This translates to a lid fault E5 according to the F&P manual.

ParticipantThanks for that. I managed to get access to the base and there was indeed water in there. I sponged out about a litre and a half and pushed the switch area upwards from underneath just because I could. It has been working since without issue and I don’t see any water drips or accumulation since after running on each program at least once. I have also repositioned the drain outlet so that it goes up from the connector on the waste pipe and not down. There would have been sink water backfilling in the as found set up- with anecdotal evidence of a leak onto the floor at the door before I got involved. I suppose it could be possible if it backfilled enough for water to leak there and some to run into the base. I couldn’t tell if the water I cleaned out was clean or dirty- I am verging on dirty but can’t be certain

ParticipantMeant to add I watched several YouTube videos on all the key elements of this – without which I would have failed.

ParticipantThanks for the clues. I have now got it working after removing the drawer, removing the lid which I was unaware we had- (but now I understand why it exists) then removing the lid actuators and guides. I then dismantled and reassembled the motor actuators and refitted everything and much to my delight it is currently working. Did have a search for spare parts on various websites and worryingly our model number didn’t feature and many of the similar numbers/variants had out of stock or unavailable spares.

ParticipantThat’s what I was thinking but thought worth asking. Many thanks.

ParticipantSo hopefully a simple case of spending £60 on a new board and fitting it! Is the swap straight forward and plug and play? Replacement dryer £200.

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS43A22 not washing
This seems to have done the trick-It didn’t seem stuck or gunged up but it has worked twice since I gave it a clean in place- I will take it out and do it properly now.
This also may have been the temporary cure when the machine first failed- when I moved the machine back into position the jolt seemed to be the thing that started it. it then did 4 or 5 washes before stopping.many thanks
