Re: Neff gas hob E-NR T2646N1GB

Sounds like its in “child lock” mode. Press & hold the on/off button for about 5 seconds. This should bring the hob back to normal operation. If this does’nt work, switch off at the mains & leave it 5 mins before switching back on. The button you are refering to is not an ignition button, it is an on/off (power) button. The burners are controlled electronically so its an automated process for ignition when the gas tap is turned. If there is moisture around the ignition heads this will cause the hob to “lock out”.

    Re: Siemens WDI 1640 Washer/Dryer Won’t start Program E14

It is possible to gain access to the NTC by removing just the facia panel. You still have to pull the machine out slightly about six inches. This gives access to the two screws which are on the right hand side of the facia panel (hidden down the side). Remove the dispenser drawer & take out the three screws which are visable in the recess. Once you have done this, pull the facia foward but be carefull (the display module & door release button is mounted on the facia). The facia will just hang loose so you can inspect the connections on the NTC & replace if necessary. Its quicker & easier with this method, but its not very easy to check for breaks in the wiring loom.

Re: Bosch WET 2820 Front Load All-in-One Washer / Dryer – FA

Do you get any lights on the front when you switch on the appliance? If no lights are on then check your mains socket. If the lights are on but you get no responce from the appliance try to reset the program. Turn the selector to the “x” position (sometimes labelled as “selection”) & press start. Turn off the machine & then select a new program. Once you have pressed start, the main wash LED should illuminate & then the door should lock then the program should start. If the main wash LED illuminates but the door doesn’t lock, you may just have a faulty door lock. If the door locks but no water goes in, you may have a kinked inlet hose or faulty water inlet valve. If none of this happens & you cannot get the machine to do anything then it could be an electronic fault. There are two electronic modules on this appliance (one behind the facia & one in the base) & both can cause spurious faults. Its worth saying that if the motor has a lot of carbon dust around it, this can cause an earth leakage fault which the electronics dont like very much & can also cause funny faults. Good luck!

Re: Bosch Maxx 5 (WAA24162GB/11) wont spin or drain the wa

If you have purchased your appliance brand new, it comes with a 2 year manufacturers warranty. Once you have checked the the drain pump as advised by iadom, you should make sure that you dont have a kinked drain hose or if it drains into the sink make sure the sink spigot is not choked up with fluff & grease deposits. Its not unusual to find small items like socks in the sump hose causing a restriction. When you checked the pump, did you try to turn the impeller with your finger? You should be able turn it & it should feel springy to turn, but not stuck. Sometimes a hair clip or something can be stuck behind the impeller causing it to become stuck. Once you are happy you have done all you can, then call Bosch service to arrange an engineer visit.

    Re: Siemens WDI 1640 Washer/Dryer Won’t start Program E14

The E14 fault relates to the dryer NTC (temperature sensor). If the machine detects a fault in any of the sensors, it will abort the cycle & show an error code. The dry NTC is located on the rubber vent hose coming from the dryer assembly which connects to the top of the door seal (behind the facia panel). It may just be a faulty connection or broken wire. Once you have checked for broken wires or faulty connections & if no fault can be found, a new NTC may be required (siemens part no 425059 cost about £16). The easiest way to get at the sensor is by removing the lid, but being an integrated machine its probably easier said than done. Dont forget to unplug the machine before sticking your fingers in!

Re: Bosch SGS56E02GB – Loud bang!

Its highly unlikely you have caused any damage. If the mains filter (supressor) fails, at most it only blows the fuse in the plug or trips the ELCB at your fuse box. The dishwasher itself will not be harmed. Replacing the supressor is all that is required. The Bosch part number is 600233.

Re: Bosch SGS56E02GB – Loud bang!

Easy, this component is the “mains supressor” & is used to filter out any RF noise being produced by the appliance. So you are correct in that it sounded like a capacitor exploding. The supressor is easily replaced by prizing it of its mounting with a small flat bladed screw driver. Its just a push-fit onto the terminals on the mains-in plate (you will see two little plastic claws holding it place). Costs about a £15.
