    Nina

You need to have a registered electrician look at this as there are number of factors are involved such as length of cable run, external fault loop impedance, method of installation etc. that will determine size of cable required.

Also, is your incoming supply capable of supporting an extra 9.5kW of load?

I suggest that you look at niceic.org.uk for an Approved Contractor in your area.

This work may also need to be notified to local Building Control under Part P of the Building Regulations.

With all due respect, if you misconnect interms of capacity or in terms of functionality you may end up causing a fire or personal injury.

Whoever connects up should carry out some basic electrical testing to establish earthing and to inspect that your Main Equipotential Bonding is correct – this is for your protection.

With all due respect, if you are asking these type of questions, you would be best advised at getting someone who is qualified to check and connect for you.

If you go to the repairs@ page this will guide you to a local engineer who should be able to help.

    Ken & Chris

    Thank you.

Tried Falcon – quoted a whopping £443 + VAT. Customer feels like jumping in the fryer 😉

Thats why I was trying to find an alternative.

    Re: LG Washing Machine

Thanks for the reply …. just been talking with the friend (& family) again who is here enjoying our beer, wine etc :D.

Was told by the Salesman that this thing is very quiet & has a direct drive motor, no belt. Lots of programmes etc etc.

Personally, I’m a bit dubious about LG anyway.

Just wanted to get an opinion as I’ll get ‘lumbered’ to fix it when its out of warranty.

Re: THE THINGS CUSTOMERS SAY ?

This is a things customers do:

Had to go & repair a microwave today. Pulled out the oven from cubby hole. Missus cleans up cubby hole whilst I’m struggling to unplug it & pull it out.

Then, I get the top off & before I can anything, she sprays a cleaner all over the magnetron & transformer (fortunetly not plugged in). So, I said (maybe stupidly) ‘why did you do that? reply – well the the bits inside looked dirty – I thought I would clean them before you fixed it 😀

Microwave now in my workshop awaiting parts.

    Dave

Thanks for the help. I assume that spares come from Electrue/Connect? If yes, prices are likely to border on outrageous.

Do you know of an other suppliers?

I seem to remember reading on the UKW forums awhile back that Brandt spares were a real mess – is this still the case? Just want avoid wasting time as the customer wants an estimate.

    Again, thank you

    regards

Re: White Westinghouse WH123 Cooker Grill Element

For the element try Europart (H T Maddocks) they seem to have elements that don’t fail insulation testing!!
