    thanks for the reply paul……no sign of corrosion on the motor and its def not running…..would a blocked impellor explain this though…?…also the lack of any decent ammount of water in the machine?… theres no sign of water being pumped out either …?

    i stripped down the left hand side and all looked pretty clean.the water level was about the same as the sump level.
    i decided to check the impellor and noticed 2 blades broken both beside each other.just wondered….. would this stop both arms from turning as now seems to be happening?this might also account for the whirring sound.ive seen the impellor kit in thespares section… would fitting this sort it? also ive noticed theres no pump listed for this machine.
    any further suggestions/

    sortedit out avatar….turns out the thermal overload had lost its integrity… may be all the work old henry had done proved too much.any way got new one for12 £and alls well again thanks
