They may not supply parts but always been ok for giving advice when narrowing down parts for me…. the 2028 range runs to more than two A4 pages of different models….

Could be tricky to diagnose without seeing it, but
1/ have you pushed the long sensor fully into it’s tube?
2/are you sure the wiring of the thermostat is correct?

if the above are ok then you may have a weak compressor (it wlll run for long periods not able to reach the cut out point of the thermostat) or you may have lost some gas from the system, either of these is not good news, the compressor being expensive and the loss of gas may re-occur if the leak is from a component that is not replaceable.

    Hope this helps

Not sure if u know but this model will run the compressor for a few seconds when plugged in then goes into a short defrost mode where it seems to do nothing for 20 mins or so….

Solenoid locks look quite similar to 3pin/4pin locks, the solenoid locks are prone to clicking(mine went !!!), the only other thing that springs to mind is a blockage in the manifold/filter, the pressure switch and pump alternate on and off if badly blocked.

    best of luck.

    Re: Zanussi ZX99/5 Compressor bust?

To defrost most frost frees will take 48 hrs (unplug with both doors open) , if you have done that then you may still have a fault. This model has an enclosed compressor bay so the compressors run hot and can have a shortened life, I’ve changed more than a few, the compressor is £160 plus vat and labour so if the compressor is knackered best go for a new product. These are not easy products to diagnose and you would be better to use Service Force who are the official Zanussi repairers.

Re: Samsung SR-S2028 Not maintaining correct temperature

Much of the Samsung range suffers icing up of the cooling components, in many cases a manual defrost will sort the problem, (unplug and leave doors open for a full 48 hours) if the problem returns it may be worth ringing Samsung themselves as there are modified parts available for much of the range, there are literally dozens of 2028 varients so it’s difficult to be exact, quote the BOM code on the label stuck to the lower left side of the cabinet to help the techie people narrow which version you have.

Re: Location of defrost sensor SR-S2028cvw

There are defrost ntc sensors in both frodge and freezer side, the resistances will vary acording to temperatures, -18 would be about 28k and +20 would be about 6k. The defrost sensors would be somewhere within the evaporators.

If none of the above makes any sense best call Samsung !!!!!!!!
