ParticipantRe: Samsung Fridge Freezer Noisy fan – RS21 NGRS
Hi,
Thanks for the last reply. A further development, maybe unrelated, separate fault?
Fridge: Fault codes still showing 7 (R-Defrost Error), I was just about to order Samsung Evaporator & Defrost Heater DA96-00013H for this to scavenge the heater, sensors etc.
Freezer: Now error 11 shows up (Freezer Fan Error) there’s a big vibration and noise in the freezer fan, and the freezer is not cooling past -4C, fridge only down to 7 (does the freezer affect the fridge temp too?).Which parts should I order for the freezer?
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Did a bit of reading… Decided to check the compressor for shorting etc. Pulled off the relay to reveal the 3 terminal pins.
Test 1: Scratched some paint off the compressor to get to bare metal. Tested resistance/continuity with each of the 3 pins… No continuity.
Test 2: Measured resistance between combination of the 3 pins. 1 pin read low (C). The product of a measurement bween (C) and each of the other 2 terminals equalled the resistance of a measurement taken across the other 2 pins (non (C)).
Conclusion, the compressor should work (?).
Any way of jumping the control circuitry to force a compressor start so I can check if it’s a pcb issue? There’s a set of 2 pins to the right of the PCB (live & neural colours, which seem to be attached to a wire coming from inside the freezer) and the set of 3 (Live, Black and Neutral) coming from the other cable connection).

You’d think a big German company with all their years of experience could make a machine that didn’t break when you move it a few miles down the road ! It can’t be more than 3 years old… Is there a 2nd hand market for compressors?

Is it likely to be the PCB? I read some other posts…

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS6962GB/13 Leaking Water Reservoir ?
Hi,
Cleaning the pressure chamber did the trick. All working again now. Thanks P45.
😀

ParticipantI sealed up the reservoir OK and there’s still a leak, so that’s not where the water is leaking from. This problem seems to be related to the 1st time it fills the reservoir in the cycle… watching it fill, the water hit the top of the reservoir and overflows at the Pressure Chamber/Regulator into the base (by about an 1/8th cup each wash).
Any ideas… should I try and take the chamber and regulator out to clean ? 😥

ParticipantHi,
Nagging doubt re: the bolted capacitor on motor… specifically the polarity,,, there’s no indicator of polarity, so I take it the black & red wires can connect to either terminal ?

ParticipantWhite inserts…. they’re the ones on the underside of the door hinges, about 1.5cm wide with a ridge up the middle ? Having trouble getting them out in situ… do I need to strip the door panel off ? or is it a pair of pliers and a bit of elbow grease (don’t want to bust them !!),,,,, or am I missing something ?

ParticipantHi P45,
Do I need to take the door off or will it lift off with the stailess steel cavity. Have disconnected everything I can see that retains the cavity… wiring loom, tensioners, water matrix, salt reservoir, can’t see any screw at the bottom, but there is a hole at the front of the base behind the front cover (size of a finger) with arrows left and right and an up and down arrow – what’s that for ?

ParticipantOK, got my spare parts (thanks), I looked through the exploded view and drained the sump… Looking at the size of the motor and the impeller seal kit it looks like I’ll need to take the base off, or am I missing a trick ?? Is it easier to work at this by tipping it on it’s side (so the side is now on top) or to tip it onto it’s roof, back ?
CityFan
ParticipantThanks,
Looking at the price of other motors it may well prove unviable ?
Is there a link to an engineering exploded view of the workings of my dishwasher so I could gauge whether to attempt it ?
Thanks

ParticipantHi.
Thanks for the guidance…
Bad news, the circulation pump is not free to turn 🙁
I’m trying to turn the pump (power off) by using a screwdriver on the fins… it’s stuck fast, no movement whatsoever. There is a slight oxidation build up on the outer casing and a small amount of water under the pump housing. Is it a pump replacement job or is there something else that it could be?

ParticipantHi,
The door spring feels strong…and didn’t start it off when I pushed against it. I’ll order a new lock and see if that works…
Thanks.
