    Re: Any ex-British Gas FSEs…

Medical supply probably cheaper for very similar item ?!?

“iD Expert Protect Super 60x75cm (1400ml) 30 Pack

These pads provide superior defence by featuring waterproof backing, diamond wicking effect for even absorption and Virgin Fluff Pulp filling which retains large volumes of liquid.”

Sorry but have no experience of either but must be similar ?

Thanks. These really help. I hadn’t looked that far back in the archives.

Wondered if anyone put any advice on checking for leaks a few weeks after visit or turning taps off after use etc

I believe you have to be registered and possess the correct C&G qualifications to work on the system.

    🙁 Shame.

Did not do a lot of work for them but they always seemed a genuine bunch to deal with and had a sense of fair play.

A sad loss to the trade if this is the end of them.

Good luck to them in securing futures.

Maybe I am a dinosaur but I think I agree with Martin, the knowledge I have aquired over the years has cost me dearly in time and energy so I dont just GIVE it away randomly (but I will help those that are genuine seekers).

And as has been said already – some of the “engineers” looking for help ask such unbelievable questions that make me wonder about their ability.
Some of them are not very experienced and I can accept that as we all have to start somewhere, but some seem to say they have been at it for years and still…..

    Re: Zanussi clutch pulley

With the Z9191t am i right to presume that it is the inner part of the clutch that is broken ?
If you just need the clutch shoe assembly as it fits onto the splined shaft there is always hope that someone has had one lying in the dust for 20 years, wouldnt be as bad to post as a motor or clutch – so i will have a look on Tuesday.
Cannot promise as there will be alot of dust on it by now !

    Well said Rudolph !
That is exactly the position we are in.
We are all owed money and have very few options on how to get it.

I have been approached by the new work providers who assumed that I would be “glad to continue to work on the products” !
I will only start to think about that when i have been paid in full for all the work i have done on that brand – so probably never by the look of things.

Until that time PABL will have to find some one else who is willing and able and who has not been involved previously.

    Re: vax

After many years with Vax, it was hard to give it up but we were just getting complaints all the time. I felt that this reflected baddly on us – so last year I wrote to them asking them to contact me to discuss this. No call ever came.

We have since sent any Vax customer back to the retailler. What other options do you have ?

Re: AEG F60870M not rinsing properly, any ideas?

More likely to be either a filter (visible under the bottom basket) not fitted correctly and therefore bobbing up and down when washing or possibly the detergent chosen.

I would try using a good quality standard detergent rather than one of these new combined 3in1 or 4in1 types, especially if using a seperate rinse-aid too.

Check the filters first, if the holes in the rotating spray arms are blocked it is a sign that the filters were not in place. If this is the case it may take a couple of washes to clean itself out again.

House insurance may cover accidental damage !!

Otherwise if it works ok, and if it is only the plastic that has cracked, a good silicone sealant should repair the cracked plastic enough to stop water getting into the foam. Seems unlikely that a crack in the plastic should stop it working, but it does depend how deep and where.

Gurgling !??! Ask the engineer for his opinion as he was the last one to hear it. Even if he doesnt come back, he may well be able to re-assure you.

    😯
Have you considered “opportunity cost” ?

That is the £37.50 you would have earned if you had taken any other call instead ! Plus the £37.50 you would have earned had you been able to do any other call on the day you go back as a recall !

‘Customer not’ in or ‘failed to complete’ is far more expensive than it first seems.
