    Re: Neff Microwave, MW5965

We have 7 experienced and trainned engineers working here.

Only 2 of them work on microwaves, this is for safety reasons.

Strongly reccomend taking it to some one who can repair it safely and who will then test it properly for you.

    High voltage can kill.

Surely with THAT serial number it has to be under 12 months guarantee.

I know we cannot tar all independents with the same brush, but how can the general public sort the sheep from the wolf ?

    Can self regulation work ?

I would NOT like a CORGI type regime, but is there an alternative solution ?

what does this saga say about the publics attitude to a lot of independents ?

Took 3 different companies to clear a blockage !!

How can these cowboys (for that is what 2 of them seem to be) carry on ?

👿 It makes my blood boil ! 👿
They should stick to the machines they can handle. Go back to fitting HPT carbons and nothing else 👿 👿 👿

At least the customer stuck with it and found a seemingly reputable repair person in the end, but many a customer would have given up and gone away disillusioned !

(feel better now thats off my chest, will now go and lie down for a bit..)

Re: “Cookers” – supplied by Bernstein Group PLC –

As with most appliances it depends what you expect from it.

You cannot expect a £100 cooker to perform like a £600 one.

    Question to ask yourself ?

If it were to go wrong, will I be able to get it fixed ?
Does it matter if it is quiet in operation ?
How hot/cool will the oven doors get ? (matters if children ever around!)
Do i need 1 oven (grill in oven?) or a double oven ?
Do i bake/cook enough to warrant the expense of a major brand ?
Does “even cooking” matter ? (very rarely 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} achieved anyway)
Is it a fan oven ?

Not very familiar with “Cookers” but would want to see it and touch it before buying.
SIMPLE fan ovens are usually ok though

    good luck

They are still based in Luton, as far as I know, so the Luton 01582 numbers are probably best for DOMETIC !

Re: Zanussi DWS 949 top basket not washing

If all the jets are clear, reasonable amout of spray comming out and no obstructions found I suggest you contact your local “Service Force” centre and ask if the top arm can be swapped to a plastic one.
The one on yours is probably metal, plastic one is better as it is lighter and spins more freely.
    Cost ?
    Less than a tenner!

    Re: One Million!

Sorry if this sounds negative but…

Isn’t our advice always going to be too late?
We all know that the current h#t###nt range “could do better” but did we know it before everyone bought one ?
Surely most of us only find out 2 or 3 years into production.
    Too late for most buyers.

I know its not too late to warn them off a particularly bad brand, but I think we can all names brands that have suddenly launched a range that WE then had to live with for the next 5 years of hell. And by the same token a very poor manufacturer who suddendly got it all right ONCE !

Lots of good information on the site but a lot is by (bitter?) experience.

    Re: Domain Name cr*p email

domain names such as you mention may well have thier good points, such as lots of people will use it as an internet search, but you will probbably spend all day every day deleting calls from the other end of the country.

I agree with you that this will be yet another WASTE OF TIME.

    8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
Sounds like we are making progress though.
A lot of these modern w/m can be re-configured to perform differently, but I would make sure that the electronic prog setting is the only difference between the models first as you dont want it to spin at 1800 rpm if the motor and bearings are deigned for 1000rpm.
    🙄 🙄
I dont think that I (personally) would change it at all.
I know 2 hours is a long time and the prog selection is inflexible but the Bosch machines are among the best you can get. Simple and reliable.

The 2 hour wash time is still (if like uk machines) very economical on water and electricity.
Now they get good results by reducing other factors but increasing wash times.
Having said that, the others you mention would surely be on a par.
Keep trying to find a prog that suits and check the consumption figures in the instruction book.

Re: New Bosch WFL 1660 with poor spin performance.

    😀
I presume you are using “spin only” as opposed to the final spin carried out at the end of a full cotton cycle.
If this is the case then you can expect a slower spin to protect the garmet which the manufacturer assumes has been “hand washed”!

Try a Cottons wash with some towels or sheets (synthetics and wools etc will all also be shorter and probably slower) and let us know how you get on!

    🙂
Im sorry but you have to understand how hard some oeople work to scrape trogether a living !

Some of these teachers etc are at their desks at 9am and apart from a lunch break (1 hour) and two tea breaks (30 mins each) they dont get to leave work till 3pm.
So we have to fit in around that time frame, or go in the meagre 16 weeks of holidays they get.
We dont know how lucky we are being allowed to work 60 hours a week.

(but would i swap? no thanks, ive seen some of the kids!!)

Is it possible that, as many of the LG issues were spares related, that the possible union with a spares supplier will be a good one??

Time will tell, but my memory of Lg is still clouded with previous troubles and i hope we dont have any issues this time.

    I can hardly wait 😕
