ParticipantRe: CDA CW496 Detergent Flap not opening
Hi, Just received the replacement soap dispenser, but it looks nothing like the original, or the picture on the website? Is this right? Also there’s a spare spray arm in the pack?

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint FZA 50 fan noisy.
OK – if anyone else has this problem, this seems to be the answer. I think the problem is the back panel expanding when it warms up after removal whilst you de-ice behind it. If you screw it tight straight away, the fan catches in the hole in the rear of the panel. Put the panel back inside, but not right back. Turn on the freezer and allow to cool down for say 15 mins. Then refit the panel properly and secure with the 4 screws. Worked for me.

Well a year on and the drain blocked again, so same procedure as above, and same end result – fan’s binding again against the back ventilation panel. Can’t remember how I cured it last time. There must be a way to refit the panel right first time, as aligning it and tightening the screws doesn’t work!
Thanks, Iain

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP 8252 won’t program
Sorry Penguin, I’m really not explain myself very well at all.
Here’s what’s happening step by step….
Starting with machine empty and switched off on the door (not mains – don’t have access to plug thanks to MFI muppet).
Open door, turn m/c on.
All the symbols light up , then Programmer reads “P0” and beeps twice.
Press program button – refuses to move on to any program (eg P4, P6 etc.).
Hope that’s a better attempt at explaining the problem.
Thanks again, Iain

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP 8252 won’t program
That’s the problem – I can’t program it at all. Refuses to budge off “P0”. If you press the time delay button it reads back 20, or 21, or 22. Cheers,

Thanks Penguin,
So no chance it’s something I might be able to fix like the door switch?

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP 8252 won’t program
Well here we are , a year on. Further to my last post, shortly after we tried “the turn it off/turn it back on fix”, it died for good. We had the programmer replaced in the last week of the 5yr warranty.
Well now it’s frozen again, 50 weeks later. Stuck on “P0”. MFI don’t want to know as it’s now out warranty. Shouldn’t the part be covered by 12 months guarantee?
A new programmer looks like £140 plus fitting. Is there an any other, cheaper, possibility? If the first programmer lasted 5 years, surely this one should last a similar time?
Any suggestions welcome – meanwhile I’ll get me marigolds 🙁

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP 8252 won’t program
OK – here’s the fix as suggested by the ins. co.
Turn off at mains
Wait 30 mins
Turn on at Mains
Turn on/off 4 times at the m/cIt worked!

Door feels OK thanks. Stroke of luck – wife remembered that we bought 5 year extended warranty. Just found the policy – expired next month! 😆

ParticipantRe: Soap tray water galleries blocked with mould
Thanks guys – got the water flowing again. Looks thick the hot service wash and cable ties did it. Now leaving the soap drawer open when the m/c is idle, but it don’t half make the room wiff 🙁 . I’ll try another hot wash, then repeat once a month. Cheers!

ParticipantRe: Soap tray water galleries blocked with mould
Thanks Penguin, but the m/c only takes cold water on the low temperature washes we use 😕

ParticipantRe: Soap tray water galleries blocked with mould
Thanks for all the tips so far – top site! We’re going to try the hot wash tonight. Also tried rodding it with a cable tie, but can’t get it in very far 😳 ! Have emailed Severn Trent to see why their water does this – not just the washing m/c but shower heads, grout etc all go black – nice :eeek: ! Any other ideas welcomed. Cheers, Iain
