Re: Miele Novotronic W970 – Intermittant "Check Inlet" light

If its the hose with the water proof system the valves jam up internally and needs the hose replacing, a sign of this is excessive buzzing during filling

if it has the horseshoe shaped element your looking at £350 plus to repair if it the heater like a large aluminium block its not worth it. Those machines are old now and only have an expected life of 5000 coffees prog>settings>number of coffees in the menu will give you an idea of use but anything with a prefix of 21 or under will probably not be worth repair.

WPS activated so somethings leaking, usual suspects are flow meter, drain pump, condensate pump jammed/inop.

If all the above is ok and the motor bells out across coil/armature and thermal fuse that LED also indicates a short circuit thyristor on the power board.

Arrh yes the good old plastic y piece, I had one of those beauties on a pair of commercial dishwashers, the hot water had a booster pump fitted with a flow switch and because the water in the pipe was 76c it ballooned and then burst in the middle of the night, oh what fun to wade around in water on boxing day 2003.

Hi all I bought a tom tom go because of the huge area I cover, All was well untill It encountered York, talk about lost, the thing was useless in there demented one way system, in the end I turned it off and got out the A to Z and found my own way to the site in about 10 mins.

Apart from that I find that a day with satnav is much less stressfull

    Re: Neptune gas tumble dryer

Hi this appliance would be classed as at risk and a notice attached saying that it should not be used, as its at risk you can leave the gas etc. connected but prominent signs must be displayed explaining why it should not be used.

Most commercial laundry enginneers would have at least attempted to clear the vent (me included) the only reason for not doing so is if it’s a very tall stack or there was health and saftey issues.

Commercial gas regs for laundry are bassicly the same as domestic but with extra air make up and isolation.

    Re: Help finding a career

Hi Steve, I know you posted this message a few months ago but I might be able help with finding a Job.

I work for a commercial laundry catering engernering company and we’re allways on the look out for new enginneers.

You’ll have to e-mail your details to me with any relevent experience etc.

Idealy you should have some sort of electrical/mechanical training under your belt.
