Re: Frost Free Mistral taking the mickey!

Fridge back to +17 this morning 🙁

Good time to fit the thermistors?

I thought so… fitted and waiting for the temps to drop…

Not a job for fat fingers!

    Cheers

Re: Frost Free Mistral taking the mickey!

Defrost by leaving the door open – to be honest all was pretty clear in there, I did check both vents for blockages… clear as anything. Also took off the flapper/baffle thingy – just from curiosity really. My milk is still cold as I type… what was a bit odd is that following the “defrost” the fridge stayed at +22 for a good 18 hrs, waiting until I went to bed before springing its little ruse.

Not sure what you mean by “its next time to defrost” – is this beast clever enough to defrost itself ??

I have hung the thermistors in full view of the blighter so that it knows what it’s in for if it dares to misbehave again 🙂 For now we exist in a state of mutual respect…

    Re: Smeg 67.1 DWI

    Update:

Removed the diverter valve and noticed it was in the closed position (i.e no water to the lower spray bar) Tested the microswitch which took a bit of coaxing to register as a switch!

Have now opened the valve and put the machine on a rinse cycle – lower bar now spinning properly.

My question is would this valve need to close for any other reason than a half-load setting (which i never use). If not I will just leave it open and not worry about it?

    Thanks

    Re: DWI 67.1 Water Temperature

Fitted new thermistor and seems to have made little of no difference. Everything else is working correctly with the exception of the water being nowhere near as hot as it used to be. Is definately “warm” so is getting some heat from somewhere.

Also took off and cleaned matrix and associated pipework.

Would appreciate any futher suggestions – thanks in advance

Re: Smeg DWI 67.1 Soap Dispenser

    ok..continuing woes…

(Superb spares service by the way – thanks!)

Fitted the new dispenser without problems – noticed on the old dispenser solenoid evidence of overheating/small burn mark near one of the terminals.

First cycle the new dispenser appeared to have opened properly – all subsequent cycles the dispenser has not opened and we appear to be back to square one :~(

Have checked the solenoid in the new dispenser – its NOT open circuit as was the old one ( around 1000ohms metered). Looks like a fault further back down the line.

Would appreciate any observations/advice before heading down the new pcb route?

    Thanks in advance
