Re: AEG Arctis Freezer PNC 922046256 Alarm & Little squa

    Thanks for that.

DH is opening up freezer now to have a look, and then we’ll order a new sensor tomorrow.

I’ll come back and confirm it’s fixed it (or to ask for more help) as soon as we’ve fitted the new one.

Re: AEG Arctis Freezer PNC 922046256 Alarm & Little squa

    Hi, thanks for your help.

The service engineer expected there to be two, but when he opened the freezer up he said there was only one and he replaced that.

I’ve still got the bag the new part came in, it says “probe, air”, and the part number is 208 56 11-09/9.

EDITED TO ADD: I’ve just found the explosion diagram on the AEG website, and it appears the engineer was mistaken; I can see from the shape of the part he’s removed that there are two of them, an air one and an evaporator one.

I presume the next step is to buy an evaporator sensor and replace that?

    Thanks again

hi Steve, thank you for your detailed reply.

3 per revolution would indicate something trapped between the drum and tub, the free end is hitting the lifters (ribs that catch the washing to tumble it).

I counted 27 clicks in one revolution.

Sorry to be a typical girlie, i’m going to get my dh to follow your instructions for the rest of it, and I’ll come back and let you know what we find.

Just want to check something: I’m continuing to use my machine until I can order/receive a new one. What is likely to happen with the problem? For example, will the machine just stop working, will it flood, will it continue to seem to work but actually not work properly etc etc

    Thanks for your help

I’m not planning to repair the machine, sorry. I did that with its predecessor (another long lived Zanussi) and it rewarded me by having something else go wrong shortly after the repair which meant I had to get a new machine anyway, and I lost the £100 (or whatever it was back then) for the repair.

I’ve been very lucky with my Zanussi choice in the past, but I don’t hear good reports of them any more (and i’m inferring from your reply that you don’t rate them now either) , so I’m not planning to get another one.

I was going to buy an ISE10 instead.

I’ll assume it’s the motor then. Although it’s inconvenient, I’m not too upset… the machine has given us a trouble free ten years (well, 9 years 11 months) so we’ve had our moneys worth.

Thanks very much for your help.

Hi, I’ve checked the drum all over (including the holes, round the edges, the bits where the water sprays, and round the seal) and I can’t find anything sticking out.

HI, thanks for that, I’ll go and have a look.
(It’s unlikely to be a bra wire, as I don’t put my bras in the machine….)

    Thanks for that Don.

Our fridge just started working again of its own accord, so panic averted. But I will investigate so I know for the future.
    Thanks again

We’ve had the pair AEG larder fridge and freezer for some months now and are very happy with them. Teh capacity is excellent; the versatility of the shelving in the fridge is really good, and the spare parts service was very rapid (I wanted an extra door shelf and two extra wine racks).

Thanks K, that’s very helpful and balanced.

The ISE seems to have a really good selection of programmes – does anyone have any views on actual wash performance please?

    Thanks again
