    Re: Customer Comments

    Excellent stuff 😀

We ought to post more of these, here’s one I had a few weeks ago from a Repairs@ customer:

    Dear Mr Conway

Thank you very much sorting out my grill so promptly, it made life much
easier for me. Your engineer did an excellent job. I will be recommending
you to my colleagues and friends. Once again thank you very much.

    Marjorie

And one from a Shop@ customer:

many thanks for the reply, and thanks for the speedy service.

they actually arrived Tuesday which is excellent service considering I only
    ordered them on Sunday night!

and I’m pleased to say we have 2 working cookers again.

I have added your site to my favourites and will recommend your site to any
    of my friends.

    many thanks

Allow me to clarify if I may 😉

You can buy anything you like from anywhere, there are no restrictions at all.

But, you cannot legally fit gas appliances or parts unless you are Corgi registered and have the relevent ACS qualification. Even as the homeowner by fitting gas parts etc you would be in contravention of the current gas regulations and are breaking the law.

Whether the HSE would prosecute a homeowner is another matter altogether of course 😕

With the new legislation being introduced along with Part P, this practice (in theory at least) will be outlawed as the homeowner will have to prove to any prospective purchaser of the home that all gas and electrical work has been carried out correctly.

    Yes, many many times Billy.

It’s not been installed correctly and is back syphoning from the sink waste.

Get the kitchen fitters back and ask them to install it in accordance with the manufacturers installation instruction 😉

Basically the waste hose is too low allowing water (clean or otherwise) that goes down the sink plug to run down the hose in to the machine.

    Aha, well spotted Simon 💡

It’s had the conversion done 🙂

Part number for the kit is 50248170008, is there a part number for just the motor though I wonder.

Re: Hoover Optima fridge freezer problem

    Yes, well hopefully anyway.

If this is a frost free unit (model number ???) the door being left open will have caused an ice build up around the evaporator causing a restriction in air flow.

The only way to get rid of the excess ice is to empty it completely and leave the doors open for 48 hours.

After that it should be OK, if not it’s time for professional help.

Try that and let us know the outcome.

Part P doesn’t cover electrical appliances (yet). Although some form of legisalation is long overdue.

It won’t stop people asking questions though Henry 😉

    Re: stoves dishwasher q600dw

Brandt made a Q60DW if that may be it ?

It’s fully integrated with a square button on the right that operates the switch, if that’s the bugger it’s part number 31X9178

May be worth a call to Glen Dimplex to confirm, although they won’t use the same part number.

    Re: zan tc470

No-one will know this part number as there is no small fan motor in any of the TC470 versions.

They all have one motor and a belt driven fan unit, early have the cross over belt and the later one’s the straight drive belt.

Sure about the model machineman ?

Re: White-Westinghouse fridge thermostat and door shelf

Before you spend money on spares, I would check the diagnosis first 😉

If it’s not cold enough it’s very unlikely to be the thermostat, check to see if the motor is running continuously, as this sounds more like a system fault to me which may prove terminal fue to the costs involved.

If you’re unsure, please call an engineer to check for you.

Repairs@ and the directories should find someone.

    Re: AEG Lavamat 72620

You need to replace what is called the water distributor, essentially the top of the dispenser complete with the motor and gearing parts you mention.

It’s part number 8996454308306 @ £50.13 inc VAT and delivery.

I can get one for you if required, email me at spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk

Yours is the white version of the same oven from the 1st post pasham, also obsolete I’m afraid 🙁

There isn’t much you can do really apart from hope someone reads this and has one on the shelf.
