    Re: FAULTY MIELE fridges

Miele products in general are of a very good quality and on the whole more reliable than most Carlight.

There are of course exceptions to the rule and you appear to have been most unlucky on this occasion.

Have you contacted Miele customer services for comment ?

Welcome to the site Mac 😀

I don’t quite understand what you mean by “it moves on to 65deg”

Do you mean it changes the selected cycle on it’s own ?

If this is the blade type it’s SW3018 Bob, but you can use the Creda dryer 120C one as it’s the same temp 😉

    Ah, it’s a Crosslee/White Knight made one.

Can you have a close look at the offending door and let me know exactly which part you need please, all the parts are individual on these, usually the problem lies with the door frame itself where the latch spring rests causing the handle etc to feel loose.

Yes, if you can tell me exactly which part is required 😉

As I said, it sounds like the plastic door frame to me but I need confirmation please 😀

spoonz wrote:the black plastic lug on the door that one of the hinges screws into has snapped

    Black plastic lug ?

If it’s the lug on the plastic door frame that’s snapped off, which is the usual that’s all you need, about £8 on it’s own.

Otherwise you’re paying for all the latch parts and the glass which are probably OK.

An open circuit heater can and will cause all sorts of complaints from these machines.

Replacing it should sort the problem.

And I just noticed Penguin replied 😆

Heater coming right up, gimme a few minutes ……

Holding the start button in for a few seconds should do it, if it doesn’t there’s something else wrong Si.

Try that and come back and let is know 😀
