    Re: Hygena Dishwasher leak

    Hi,

There are many MFI service agents who view this site, if you pop you’re post code in a reply, someone should be able to assist further. Without the model number is is difficult to help much further with a cause but the likelehood is it is a Smeg made dishwasher and will probably have a blockage somewhere.

    Re: Miele dishwasher g858

The dishwasher does definitley have what is called a “circulation valve” part number is 5268861. It may not be that of course but it must be the obvious choice if the half load option has been eliminated.

That’s the number on the EAC contact sheet sent to me when we were asked to become agents for them, if it’s wrong, appologies, EAC may have made a mistake, I haven’t actually had the need to phone them yet.

Martin wrote:e.g. I you try to edit your profile say from the Home page

Yes it does exactly that for some reason. If you have uploaded a “special” avatar in forums/profile then edit any other details afterwards in you’re account/your info it removes the avatar. You will then need to go back into the forums/profile and re upload it.

I have no idea why this is though, I tested it earlier and it removed mine. Luckily I kept a copy of mine from Martin’s email. 😀

    Re: Servis Laser

Without the model number I’m assuming it’s the older laser machine. If so it means that there is an “open circuit” in the motor control/motor circuit somewhere.

    Probably carbon brushes worn down.

    Re: Disposal of Spare Parts

The other aternative is to hang on to them and put all the part numbers on the site, time consuming and probably not at all cost effective, but you never know, someone may be willing to cough up a £ or 2 and put them to use, and it may help someone get a job completed.

    Just a thought.

Re: Manufacturers Parts List CD Roms

Hi Brian, thanks for the reply, it’s nice to know you are willing to take our thoughts and feedback and work with us 😀

You’re points and questions I would answer as such:

The life of the disk at 6 months is fine, would an annual fee though not be more realistic. Another possibilty is to release one new disk every 12 months and enable update functions via the internet. This would reduce the cost of security, enable almost “real time” updates as and when new models and ranges are released. This would mean the disk would require a full hard disk install, but nowadays the price of enormous hard drives is so low, it is easily a far more sensible option, let alone speeding up the “finding”.

Partfinder is by far the easiest manufacturer software programme to use, anyone who uses the MFI disk and not Partfinder will probably agree.

Improvements, as Martin mentioned, more (there couldn’t be any less ;)) technical information. As I mentioned in my previous post, the TDS disk has the full service manual for virtually every model in the Electrolux group range, even some user manuals. This would obviously then have to be on DVD as the TDS disk is, but at less than a quarter of the price presently, there does seem a vast difference in the price, I’m sure you will agree. Perhaps a secure link from the disk to GDA’s own server to gain access to that information maybe ? I know the information is available as GDA engineers are issued with a far superior version of the Partfinder disk.

You’re further thoughts would be very welcome.

    Re: my posts today.

Please be sure that none of my comments of today are aimed directly at anyone, except one person, we know who that person is and I hope he reads the forum. If he can’t even be bothered to hit the reply button (and I know he’s read my emailed request) then he deserves all he gets frankly.

I don’t have a problem helping out with the dasa comms thing at all, I just wanted it out in the open.

To be fair GDA do have online parts identification as well at http://www.theservicecentre.co.uk/Service/fr_shop.html
So the cd purchase is not absolutely essential, but this does not cover all of the appliances on the cd 🙁
