Re: Replacement Glass for a Ceramic Hob

I’ve found out the details for the glass top replacement for you, the part is going to be around the £200 mark with postage etc 😯 And it’s out of stock in the UK at the moment so will be several weeks no doubt.

Probably better off replacing the whole hob to be honest. But if you want one ordered I can do so for you, just email me using the button down there.

Two reasons really, one, we don’t want to (and shouldn’t) encourage the public to repair their own appliances do we ? 😉 Which leads directly to the second reason, these types of calls are bread and butter to many of the guys.

Yep, that’s basically the same as they told me last year. I didn’t need to re-register either.

I ordered one on Saturday from ISDAL, I’ll let you know if there’s a supply problem from there as well when it arrives, as they are the appointed Teba agents for the UK.

Other than that you can PM user “Richard” on here, he is the service manager for them.

Yes I would like to repeat that sentiment, staff holidays prevent me from going sadly. But you never know, I may decide at the last minute to get up at 4.30 am and drive up, we’ll see 😉

If the freezer is a seperate appliance, it may also be worth checking the very bottom of the freezer, I know you have checked the inside but certain makes of freezer are notorious for having insulation problems at the base where the ice will break through and start to melt at room temperature causing this problem.

Just a thought, otherwise, as Penguin mentioned, it will almost certainly be a blockage in the defrost drain tube.

I have added a new download regarding the DATA protection act. It’s basically a guide for small businnesses, not the whole act as this is huge and mainly not applicable. It’s in the pdf section. Or you can download it here:

    http://www.informationcommissioner.gov. … 20V1.2.pdf

From memory when our old registration expired last year, the law has changed. If as mentioned the information is used purely for personal records and does not contain information regarding religious beliefs, ethnic status or suchlike, or is used for marketing purposes it is now no longer neccassary to register, but it’s worth checking.

It’s hard to tell really Scotty, the drawing isn’t that clear and the desription is as I desribed above.

Probably both I would imagine, a valve that is controlled by a solenoid 😕

Gunkol is a Turkish company who sell under the Teba name in the UK. There do seem to be some Gunkol branded appliances around though. Are there any other numbers on the hob ?

It should be OK to obtain the parts though as long as I am able to cross reference it with the relevent Teba information. I’ll check tommorrow for you, but any other numbers you can find on the hob may help.

Yes I’ve done a couple of those, there was a small hotel here with two of them.

Mind you there were very old by the time I got to repair them 😉

PINKY wrote:On the FF71n is there a reason why the air duct should ice up?

Yes, a defrost problem in the freezer will cause the ice to build up to such an extent it will block everything. On this model the “flap” in the fridge is a motorised damper which opens and closes to allow less/more air flow from the freezer, may be worth checking this as well.

I have a couple of hotpoint mistral f/freezers with the same fault. Freezer is down to -22 but fridge is +21. fan in freezer working ok and door making contact with switch. your knowledge will be appreciated!

I would first of all remove the rear panel in the freezer, it sounds like a possible defrost problem and the ducts between the freezer and fridge are blocked with ice.

PINKY wrote:I also have an older f/freezer 8596p showing E3 fault code, have changed the three thermistors but still has fault.
    Pinky

E3 is a “Fridge thermistor open circuit” fault, If you have replaced that one then the other things to check are dry joints on the control pcb, faulty new thermistor ? Or possible faulty pcb.
