Thankyou Ken 😀
That makes far more sense than my semi-explanation 😉

ParticipantRe: AEG Favorit 420
Yes there was a kit available for these, I can check tommorrow for the part number and if it’s still available. Ken (kwatt) won’t mind me butting in as he won’t have the facility to look the spare up as easily as I will.
And while were here, a “sticky” means, if, when you post a new message and select sticky it will “stick” at the top of that forum untill it is “unstickied”. Announcements will always remain above stickies though.
Hope that makes sense 😕

Great alf, thanks for that, it’s of great use to me. I can get the call booked in tommorrow now 😀
I guessed the drum would be a bugger to remove, the shaft is the tapered type, like the old frigidaire spinners.
I’ll pass the number on to the engineer going out in case he gets stuck while on the job as it were.
I knew I would get a faster reaction here than from Nobfrost.
Cheers.

ParticipantRe: leisure 5300 FSD
Gary, I guess the 5300 is the first four numbers from the serial number ?
If it is, the cooker should be a Rangemaster Professional 55 ?
If all the above makes sense then the part number is A091664
Hope that helps.

Participantkwatt wrote:Should be interesting as British Gas had the laundry apparently
British Gas definitely had the non refrigeration contract as we used to sell some Haier appliances and the one’s that went faulty were always dealt with by them. In fact we had a washer here on site that we had to replace for the customer as a faulty door interlock couldn’t be obtained, it was returned to our supplier after 12 months of waiting 😮

ParticipantRe: Brushes-Blomberg Washer 1501AAA
Glad you got it sorted in the end 😀
Carbon brush replacement can me a minefield these days as the manufacturers rarely use their own motors and buy various types even across the same model range, making replacement difficult without actually doing a physical comparison.
I’m glad you found the site useful.

Shit !!
I missed this thread altogether until now.
I, and couple of others (can’t remeber exactly who now) spoke to Richard Dalley about this sort of thing at the meeting and he thinks it would be a great step forward for the industry, it helps everyone basically, we all heard him say that the manufacturers etc want almost live information on the service work, which we already know as they constantly request daily updates etc, which, to be honest I can see why. If they get even one customer phone with a complaint or query, they have to make umpteen calls to find out wtf is happening, and more often than not, we end up having to phone engineers to get more info on jobs to answer their questions.
Real time updates on jobs is the only way forward with service software IMO, and Connect are striving towards it as far as I know. I may find out soon as I am quite tempted to take RF up on his offer, but only in a small area, even if it’s just to have a look at the software they have developed, anything is better than NESN’s call manager 😉
Come to think of it, anything is better than NESN full stop.

It was the Euronics buying group (CIH) I think and only certain models were covered, which I can’t remeber off hand to be honest. It’s worth checking though.

Yes you can use animated gif’s no problem, as long as they are no bigger than 80×80 pixels and no larger than 6kb.

ParticipantRe: LG WM-1460F(H)D
If it makes no difference swapping the leads around then either the pressure switch or the pcb are at fault and I would suspect the latter as I have never had cause to replace a pressure switch. If I were you I would call someone out who has the experience of these appliances to make a better diagnosis for you as we are stabbing in the dark a bit here. It may well be something quite silly that could be resolved which will save you unnecessary expense and hair pulling 😉
Also as this is a public forum I can’t be too specific on diagnostics as I place myself at risk if you cause yourself any harm carrying out any advice I may offer.
If you pop you’re postcode up here, someone no doubt will be able to help with a call for you.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA Carbon Brushes
Hi 13
No problem the part number is 1603910 for the FHP motor, which will soon become the norm as GDA are stopping the supply of the old motors and armatures soon I am led to believe. They also fit some of the Zanussi motors, but a bit cheaper. There is also a pattern “insert” available from Connect, part number CBN9121.
Regards.
Dave.
And welcome to the site by the way.
