    Re: Web Site

Tony, I’m not a one man band but do have some knowledge of this which may be usefull.

If you are paying a set fee with an isp, like BT for instance, you should have a small amount of web space as part of that package which will be more than enough for a few pages giving information about you’re services. You will then have to create the site yourself or pay someone to do it. To be honest, there are many fairly reasonable bits of software out there now that can create basic sites quite easily with the user having no knowledge of HTML etc.

Speak to you’re isp on how to go about uploading it etc, it’s all actaully quite straightforward these days.

I think personally we all need a web presence these days as more and more people are using it a source of information.

    Re: Compressor cross-reference

Yes, that is the problem. The compressor is an R600a unit with no identification on it other than the type number. It is the fridge compressor from a twin pot fridge/freezer, the fridge capacity is 266 litre so I would assume a 1/5hp pot should do the trick.

Would any refigeration experts like to verify this please 😀

Sorry, I can’t expain that one. The time of you’re post shows OK here so it may be a problem with the server you connect with, I wouldn’t worry about it, unless Ken has another idea. 😉

We do have one sprinter which, now you come to mention has never broken down 😀

Other than that we normally use the services of a friendly local motor mechanic who has a recovery vehicle.

Yes it certainly appears that way now after recieving more information about it. Thanks anon.

As mentioned, these are the guys that give this trade a bad name, gladly though it appears you didn’t sign anything and should come out of it cleanly.

    Good luck !

Penguin45, to change the time zone follow the link below, half way down you will see a drop down box titled “forum time zone” and set it to GMT. This should correct the time and date problems you have 😀

    Re: Anglo Iberian

I am going to resurrect this thread again as I feel it is necessary after some recent poor back up by AIS.

I don’t know if anyone else is finding the same, but it seems lately that the famous back up that AIS offered it’s agents has suddenly gone down the pan. I have given them ample oppurtunity to address my problems, all of my emails and phone calls remain unanswered, except one which came two weeks after placing it, by then the appliance had been replaced anyway 🙄

I always give people time to answer and try to rectify problems before shouting about it, well they have had more than enough time.

Incorrect parts being delivered, zero technical back up after numerous requests, reports remain un-dealt with. Oh, and late payments recently as well. 😥

Sorry, but all of these things add up to too much at the rates paid for these low volume, high hassle factor calls. So, if the situation remains for any length of time, I will have no choice but to cease the work.

Any LG agents also beware, I have now revieved the above virus three times from different @lge.com email addresses. So it seems they have it in their system as well 😥

Re: HELP! TUMBLE DRYER ON FIRE! HELP! TUMBLE DRYER ON FIR

It would be easier to comment if we knew which make and model the tumble dryer is/was. I would check first though before you divulge that information whether that may prejudice you’re case as this is a public domain.

By the way, I am sorry to learn of you’re sad tale, it is very unusual for appliances generally to cause this sort of damage.

    Re: Latest Virus Outbreak

Yes I had the very same virus attachment sent to me today (quite a few in fact 🙁 )as well from various unknown sources and NESN.

As Ken mentioned, this is a real nasty bugger and it’s spreading like wildfire.
