Re: Electrue Selling To General Public

following from the CDA thread perhaps this should be brought to more attention because the site has obviously changed direction…and appears to be selling all spares and accessories now!!!!

I challenged our Connect rep. some months ago and she stated that it(the 4OurHouse site) was only going to be for accessories…..NOT anymore.

A direct challenge me thinks to all us retailers selling from our shop on the telephone or via the web!!!

It was always looked upon as a big No No for a supplier to be approaching his own customers customers in what can only be seen as pinching his (the distributors) own customers business from under him.

Should we be buoycotting this supplier???? only by standing together can we change things (I doubt that this would have much of an effect and if parts centre were still the threat to connect as they were when WashVac I think things would be a lot different!!)

Power seems to have gone to their heads?????????

anyway thats my moan lets see if many of you agree with me

    Re: TDS DVD

If you are running windows XP service pack 2…..then TDS will NOT run!!!!

This is official from Electrolux themselves, something to do with the new security measures in service pack 2 that the software engineers were not aware of.
There is no fix yet..apparently they are rewriting TDS so that it does not run under Internet explorer!!!

If anyone has heard anything differently please let us know.

ps: if you have a direct account with didtriparts and have access to Pro corner then everything is on there including wiring diagrams service manuals etc.

Re: M/wave wiring diagram req’d ??.please.

did fuse blow only when programme selected and start button pushed?
or did it blow as soon as plugged in?
if blew prior to being switched on fault usually lies in microswitches
if occurred when powered up then is usually on high voltage side, quite often if the magnetron goes down to earth it take out the diode on the capacitor usually the one accross the capacitor terminals but occassianally the one from capacitor to case.
As a rule if I am changing a Maggy on a Sharp I would change the diodes as well.
I personally have never known a board go down to earth.
    Hope this helps

    Re: ZANUSSI1640W E50

Reading the service manual for this model it seems that a different fault code is displayed to the customer than the diagnostics system would display.

    The user fault code is e10, e20, e40, e90.
when the diagnotics system is entered it gives the engineer a more precise fault code.

I am guessing that the E20 is a user code and needs resetting to clear the last fault from memory. Because the E5_ codes all appear to be wiring/communication errors (components to what the Electronics is expecting). If not reset may then display E50 which technically is not a fault code!!

    Re: Six Year Guarantee

It is amazing what gets thrown up in the course of discussions on this forum. I had never considered Product Liability Insurance for the retail side of our business!!!

Perhaps it is already included in our all in policy??
I will check with my insurers
Perhaps anyone else reading this who retails appliances can confirm if they have this type of cover?
I presume this would cover us for damages etc caused by the actual product we had supplied?

    Re: Six Year Guarantee

OK Chaps that covers the problem of explaining to past customers who may pick up on this sort of thing.
But it would be great if these articles actually explained things as KWATT has.
Instead they just get headline grabbing stories which at the least are misleading….I guess that is the way all news in general is reported though!!!!!

still intersting too see it is basically a re-hash of old news.

    many thanks for your comments

We`ve also had instances of the laces snagging and causing the stretch type belts to snap.

    so definately a bad idea!!

    Re: Compensation Issue

Reading the first post in this thread…could it have been the hose from the hot valve that had become dislodged and when tested on rinses it would only fill from the cold valve??
Just a thought??? perhaps customer is correct and calling back what will there be to see apart from customer possibly showing u which hose had `come off`

only pondering!!.st our customers are genuine (luckily) and faced with this situation I would have wanted to view the situation myself..as the “boss” out of hours calls (to suit the customer)to check this sort of situation (catch it in the bud as it were) are the only way as far as i am concerned. Go with Bucket cloth or wet/dry machine ASAP…Customers generally apreciate this approach and it eliminatesthe situation that has occurred here.

    Cheers

These new appliances are quite a learning curve..open the door and it continues to wash and sprays everyting in front and to the sides of dishwasher!!!!! guess I should have pressed the PAUSE button first!!!

DUH!! one consolation it was in the workshop not in a customers home!!
