    Re: Indesit DG 5000

I have done this and it does open contact. Tried it taped to a saucepan of water with a thermometer and it seemed ok.I therefore thought t was the safety stat breaking too soon so I bought one but does not change anything.Stlll continues to get up to temperature and then cool down without progressing to drain but definately not the pump.

I replaced the 75c screw in thermostat but still the same. Not sure whether it is worth trying the other one because it seems very expensive for what it is and no certainty that it will cure the problem. s there any way that can determine whether it is this thermostat ?

    Re: Indesit DG 5000

    Thanks Martin.
Thats the thing I don’t understand. It fills, to correct level and soap door opens. It heats up and washes and drains. Then does a cold rinse and drains ok again.Fills again for hot rinse and this is when it sticks. It heats but does not reach 75c. Perhaps the springloaded contact thermostat @65c controls the wash (took it off and it is open circuit)and the screw in one is for the hot rinse ? Bit of a puzzle really but any advice much appreciated.

There are 2 thermostats on this model. One has a probe in the machine and the other is external with spring contact. Assume one may do the operational control and the other is safety. Think these could be the problem. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Martin,
Was able to locate some this PM and now running again. Quite straightforward to replace them.

Eventually sourced a replacement stat and installed without a hitch.
