Finally had to fit a new turbidity sensor to cure fault. 🙂

ParticipantRe: Indesit type Hotpont FDW50
Whilst checking wires associated with flood switch (Which is fine), I traced fine wires to top display module plug on left side of board. When plug removed machine progresses from initial pumping to energise fill valve (not tried with water yet as have machine upside down!). Further tracing of cables led to turbidity sensor above pump (or below when upside down). Removed this and played around with it, refitted and retried with it reconnected and fault seems to be cured? Not run with water yet but I guess it could be dirty connection or sensors. Will run up tomorrow (Sat) and see if programme progresses OK. I see they stopped using this sensor on later models.

Yes thanks Iadom, I did see the codes posted (by you), for the DWF50 on page three, but I am easily confused. The serial is 19600612, although the machine is an R grade so Hotpoint might have modified. I’ll recheck obvious faults again tomorrow and keep you posted.

I was reading the fault codes for the bit 100 pcb, how do I know which is which? This machine has never (surprisingly) leaked into the base and the microswitch is fine as has been checked.

Aaaah I see the light 💡 , thanks Iadom. Light flashing is the Eco 45 light, you see I was counting fourth light from the left but the first light is the rinse aid refill light so therefore the fault I should be looking for is the third light flashing which I read as thermister fault. I had changed the board as thermister is not removable but it was second hand so might also be faulty. Next step is to try a new board, does anyone agree with this diagnosis. As stated originally machine pumps for about 30 secs after starting any cycle then the light flashes and cannot be cancelled. Have to turn off to reprogramme.

Checked valves all tested OK. Back to square one! The tip beckons, but is still in good nick, no sign of leaks into base unlike most we come across.

Quite right, DWF50. Must clean my specs, will check valve now. I must be looking at wrong fault chart as I read it as heat timeout in the known error codes list.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Diplomat ADP8322 Flowmeter.
🙂 🙂 Just a note to say that new flowmeter tank solved problem. There was no pulse when metering old flowmeter board when filling. I presume that either the reed switch was faulty or the magnetic part of the fan impeller was. Shall check next time ❗ ❗

Thanks Brian, I’ll have a go at the contacts again, but unit is as clean as new! I did get it to fill once after refitting plug but then it overfilled! Do you have a part no for side tank. My other thought was maybe the timer module is still faulty.
Cheers,
