I should like to say that we have always given six month g/tee on recon w/m’s but just wanted to make the point that it would now appear that we are obliged to do so. Recon prices have come back from £180, £150, £120 any less and they no longer are viable when warranties and VAT take any profit away. It is on the cheap s/h fridge or freezer that someone wants for the garage or the fishing bait that it also makes awkward. Money back is perhaps the quick loss option.

I was advised by the Office of Fair trading that I have to give 6 months warranty on s/h goods, which makes things tricky on your cheap and cheerful option. 🙁

Work slow here too and it doesn’t help with local store Homemaker selling Beko 1000’s for £129.99. My engineer says he wants a pay increase and I reckon he’s earning more than me now. How much should you pay a good engineer when it’s difficult to find a replacement but work is getting harder to find?

Just thought it might be of interest that Asko were using three phase motors in their domestic machines ten years ago and the advantages are quieter motors with much smoother response and very reliable but the supply board was an expensive beast if it failed. I can’t see Hotpoint getting the same reliability, whatever next! ❓ ❓

Still could do with some info on this. Apparently hob works OK but oven displays error code 08. We are booked to look at next monday the 19th March. Otherwise I guess it’s down to look and see!

I used to find the picture fridges were slow movers but were great for attracting customers and once in the door you can try and sell them something else. We recently resprayed a fridge freezer Volkswagen Yellow for one of my more eccentric customers. I find white and stainless steel a little boring. Nothing like a bit of colour to brighten up the place, and you can’t call me White Van Man.. 😆
