    Re: Homeserve Franchises?

Yip that’s the ones!! You want to have seen the guys face from North Wales at the meeting we had, I spoke with him after and he told me what I already was thinking! As for Scotland Wales and N Ireland no one will accept the figures they are quoting! 8.4{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the uk population stay in Scotland and even worse for Wales where do they think they will get all the customers from?

Regardless of that what they in affect are saying is not only are they going to take on the gas board but every other contractor out their and compete for the business on the premises that they are a national brand! Get a life!

I have asked the question that what they are proposing is in affect direct conflict between my existing business and their franchise? As I would be bidding for the same jobs as I was going to do for them? Oh and I think I would be winning hands down every time!

    Re: Homeserve Franchises?

Well I think I can now kiss good bye to my electrical work from Homeserve! As we have been threatened with loosing the work if we don’t take the franchise! We all no it won’t work but hey let them go ahead lmao. If you looked at the costs involved you would cringe and the logistics!

How many sparks do you know that will work after 4 for no overtime or travel money and all the jobs will be on a fixed rate for electrical work? What planet do these guys come from?

    Re: Homeserve Franchises?

To put you all in the picture I have actually been offered the franchise by Homeserve! Not for doing appliances but for my electrical contracting side! And we have told them in no uncertain terms to shove it!! These people have no idea and secondly believe me the deal that we where offered is a lot worse than you could possibly imagine!

Watch out because the Homeserve plan is global domination of all home services!! Including appliances! They plan to be bigger than BG/SG soon! And they have cash to throw at it!

Oh and an American chap is involved!! And he is the brains behind the Chem Dry carpet cleaning concept!! Where he gets the idea that electricians are the same as carpet cleaners I will never know!!

Has anyone heard of the MR Electric franchises! Course you have and look how successful they are outside major city’s! Eh NOT

So look out you will soon see a national fleet of little red Homeserve vans with all their happy little franchisers driving them! Oh and paying Homeserve for the privilege. LMAO

    Re: WINDOWS VISTA

Got to agree with you if you use vista on a laptop it slows it right down because it is graphics intensive, but if you use it on a decent system it is really good! It has not slowed my pc up at all but when I got the free upgrade from HP for my laptop god it was awful and all the HP drivers I had problems with! So I would stay clear of the upgrade scenario :rolls:

Re: SMEG BUILT IN DISHWASHER HELP!!! REQ PLEASE

So tell me! When the relay is brought in what else controls the heating circuit?? Oh and while you are so clever what brings the led on to show the fault in the heating circuit?? Oh and if the heater relay does not come in does the machine advance!! Regardless!! Go study the diagram! Or go back to collage! whos talking crap?

oh :rolls: for you that dont know 😉 EX hazardous area equipment (electrical installations and service) is very very complicated with so much legislation covering it you would not believe and funnily enough you have to be a qualified electrician to do the work with a certificate it’s slightly harder than fixing a domestic appliance! God what ever next eh!!

Oh well better off and get ready for the day!! I am off to price a job installing EX hazardous are equipment and plc controls for a major oil company today! Then I am way to fit a hvac control unit for a major hvac and refrigeration company! Then I think after that I will see what domestic appliances I can find that I cant fix no better still I will just go and fill out the test certificates I have still got to do for injection testing that I done yesterday :rolls: God why is everything so complicated 😉 what are you doing eastlmark?? 😉

Re: SMEG BUILT IN DISHWASHER HELP!!! REQ PLEASE

Well I never also ❗ I think if you took the time to look at the wiring diagram!! mm :rolls: You would find that you where in fact so right that their is only one relay on that board but if you could also comprehend the fact that that one relay controls the heating circuit and if it does not come in will not bring the led for the fault on 😮 Funny that as I explained to OT!! I get faced with these small problems all the time working on gas turbines and 415vac plc equipment and all other electrical equipment offshore 😯 mm where easlmark we don’t have the luxury of going to our van and getting a board in and slaving it in to find out if our guess was Wright 😉 So if you would like to make any other derogatory comments please please bring it on! As I am more than qualified to repair what you seem to think is the white box with the internal workings of space shuttle inside it 😉

And obviously you’re not clever enough to repair boards or look up an electronics parts catalogues! I would suggest that you don’t know where to acquire electronic components as you will never make it work 😆

Re: SMEG BUILT IN DISHWASHER HELP!!! REQ PLEASE

Thanks oldtog! Yes to say the least I was a bit p**** off with that comment! But there you go!! To put you in the picture I found that the relay contacts had burnet out and where making contact occasionally! So I duly replaced the relay on the board and away she went runs like new now!

I would just like to thank you again for your help oldtog and the other people that gave me help and advice!
