Excuse me!! But I think I am quite capable of repairing a smeg dishwasher! I was asking if the machine had this as a common fault not how to repair it!! And thanks for all you help the machine is now working! After my being so clever to repair the pcb!! At component level!! and I will stand by my original statement!

    Re: WINDOWS VISTA

When you first install it automatically updates all your drivers and programs that are incompatible, only very little cant be updated but these tend to be programs that you probably don’t use

After doing a little exercise on the comet web site!! Given the choice who would pay £120 for a pcb and £40+vat repair bill to fix a 2yr old smeg integrated dishwasher! When you can buy a BEKO integrated full size dishwasher for £200! And I know what you are all thinking it’s a BEKO but let’s be totally honest it’s probably just as good as the basic smeg machine? And for the money it probably performs as well!

    What’s the world come to?

You have got to be joking £120 for that pcb is that retail? Because I would never pay that for the board and I don’t expect my customer will be! I would rip the thing out and replace it with a free standing machine!
Mind the machine is just over 2yrs and the customer has already said if it going to be expensive he will just go out and buy a £200 freestanding dishwasher! And let’s face it who can blame him as the smeg is a heap of crap!

Re: SMEG BUILT IN DISHWASHER HELP!!! REQ PLEASE

Thanks oldtog!!! Now had a look at the wiring diagram and can see that the heater gets it feed from the pressure switch and the board! (Sort of thought that anyway) my conclusion is that the relay for the heater is not switching as the pressure switch is ok! But that begs the question why the led is not coming on to say that their is a fault on the heating stage? Anyway I am going to go for the board anyone got any idea of cost for this pcb?

Re: SMEG BUILT IN DISHWASHER HELP!!! REQ PLEASE

Thanks for the reply! The machine goes dead i can’t confess to hearing any noise from the motor, but i have tried the machine on all programs with the same fault! What’s getting me is that when the machine starts! the pump runs for some time before it starts to fill (never done a smeg d/w) but after the pump stops running and the machine then fills and starts to wash for a couple of minutes! Then it cuts out the dispenser door does not open, i would have thought it would have (tested solenoid ok) but the fault might be before it gets to that part! I thought as soon as the machine fills the heater should come on?

Re: SMEG BUILT IN DISHWASHER HELP!!! REQ PLEASE

the machine does not have a reset stat on it nor does it have a side valve, it has one stat mounted in the door, and one inlet valve and one regen valve, and that’s all that’s to it (I think) if anyone knows if this machine has a reset stat on it where is it, the temperature is controlled by the stat on the door and the pcb(I think)

i have read on another post that you can reset the board by hitting the program button 4 times? what button and does it work

Re: SMEG BUILT IN DISHWASHER HELP!!! REQ PLEASE

The machine does not show any error codes! No lights on the panel to say their is a fault! And I know it is supposed to according to the instruction Manuel , that’s why i think the board is faulty

    Re: Homeserve To Buy D&G

being a Homeserve agent for 24 hour electrical work and a agent for D+G!! I can tell you what one i would rather do work for (Financially) and homeserve already do appliance repairs(not in a big way)but they sell the policys.

yes i would say homeserve have far better rates.
