    Re: Approved Electrical Connections

Steady martin, with doing that repair on your lawnmower you have probably made an illegal connection and broke several by laws and regulations, how unsafe and i hope someone reports you to the relevant authorities.

Lucky you have a fused plug which in turn is connected to your fused consumer unit!

We use a franke minerva everyday, makes great tea etc, it is boiling!
Fact is that you only buy one for convenience, not if you want to save money

So in others words it was a crap machine when you bought it and its still a crap machine, you are just lucky its lasted this long and that is mainly because you don’t use it!

At least you are keeping the Chinese people who work in that factory for ten bob a week in a job, and giving the eco people something to talk about with all those excessive fumes they pump in to the air from the factory, and thats before we get on to transportation costs and enviromental damage it causes, but as long as you are happy thats all thst matters

If that is the way you feel then you should really get someone in capable of doing the job, i am of the same opinion as martin, you have been given more than enough information to do the job and you obviously are not up to doing the job, so stop now before you wreck you oven completely.

Or make up copper pipe with washing machine taps on with a 3/4 thread end, then you could connect this manifold to the original tap and hey presto you have individual taps to isolate individual machines

    Re: Approved Electrical Connections

I haven’t missed the point, i do about a dozen replacement appliances a week where at least 3 of them will be bodged in wiring wise, all we do is install and connect safely and thats it job done, there is no one who we can report the original installer too who bodged it, and to be honest we wouldnt waste our time.
I really dont get what point you are trying to make, i really dont.

    Re: Approved Electrical Connections

Fit an approved junction box, then every one is happy, manufacturers will have no issue with plugs missing as long as the appliance can be issolated, built in appliances are nearly always hard wired.

I cant help bur think you are over complicating this and there is no just cause, so what if the last guy made a mess of it, as long as you do it properly you will have a customer for life.

You dont need to touch the gas side, its probably the wires have come off the plate, its a known fault and rangemaster normally do it free.

Martin you say PAT is pointless? Surely anything that adds to the customers safety is not pointless, bit like testing earth loop in a house, not a legal requirement either

Hi, you seem to be ignoring my posts, this will be my last bit of help for you, dont order a thermal cutout as this will not fix your oven and hob, please get an engineer out to correctly diagnose the fault with your oven and hob.
