Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

heard from a few engineers if dryer has old drum ie the back of drum is smooth style it also needs to be changed to upgraded style drum seemingly there’s none in stock .

this mod work is going to be a minefield i suspect especially with customers who have other faults , the ones who normally dont call anyone one out as they are tight ars but hey since its a free recall ill try get the heater done etc .

engineers going to have to send more time checking it before they start any work

hopefully work providers will be stressing that agents are purley doing recall work an remedial repairs at customers/ hotpoints expense — haha

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

currently engineers just been given extra time ontop of normal repair job , so spares etc not an issue for them

yes huge question mark over extra work required – the vented ones fall apart if you look at them the wrong way .

hopefully the service providers will be asking questions on the extra work that will be needed .

samsung just folded with recall work – they would do any repair work required to keep customer happy –

didnt go down to well with service gents – but thats samsung do anything to bury there shody crap away for the publics eye

Teacher: “Four crows are on the fence. The farmer shoots one. How many are left?”

    Little Johnny: “None.”

Teacher: “Listen carefully: Four crows are on the fence. The farmer shoots one. How many are left?”

    Little Johnny: “None.”

Teacher: “Can you explain that answer?”

Little Johnny: “One is shot, the others fly away. There are none left.”

Teacher: “Well, that isn’t the correct answer, but I like the way you think.”

Little Johnny: “Teacher, can I ask a question?”

    Teacher: “Sure.”

Little Johnny: “There are three women in the ice cream parlor. One is licking, one is biting and one is sucking her ice cream cone. Which one is married?”
Teacher: “The one sucking the cone.”
Little Johnny: “No. The one with the wedding ring on, but I like the way you think.

id love to have been in the board room when they penny dropped about about the recall figures

the team that put together the deal to purchase indesit may want to put the new car on hold .

got to be your worse nightmare —- kinda like buying a car of ebay and the engine blows up half way up the rd .

ah the good old samsung days – lol

    samsung mod 10 mins —-

hotpoint 60 mins will take a lot more time to go though 1.6 million if thats correct numbers .

new back plates on both vented and condensers

seems like Scotland getting the work 1st ? as there just to much volume in rest of uk and not enough engineers yet .

Re: Regas fridges yes or no

yeh dont think they have banned r12/22 in the usa ?

far better refrigerant for these units than 600a – could be a big stumbling block for bigger unit in the eu/uk ? with all our silly rules and regs .

its probably used more in air con there – wouldn’t like to take air con away from the yanks.

Re: Regas fridges yes or no

im sure with all the dryer heatpumps on the market now it wont be long until some bod comes out with a portable style heat pump heater .

ho much it will cost ?? — could be a cheap as a argos fridge nothing in them really

they all seem to be 134a at the moment for some reason

give it 5-10 years and they will be the norm for heating i would think
