chaps customer door – customer answers and says i hope you don’t mind cats, I’m like no I don’t mind them

2 steps in the smell hit me like a ton of bricks, cat litter boxes all over the house – full of cats poo/pee

the guy is about 30 years old and more than able to deal with the litter, but 1 look around the house gave me my answer

anyway, the oven needed an element quick fix – thank eff for that

so getting to the things they say —– when I was testing the oven he pipes up —ohh is that the new element I’m smelling —- Im like WTF

i felt like answering i can’t smell anything as my senses have been mugged by your cats pee , but being the professional i am? –
i said ohh yes that’s what the smell is

YES – we took some work when we were not busy over the past couple of years
but i never trust any of these companies – the only way we deal with them is callout upfront, or directly deal with the customer repayments

Unfortunately, things have been tough over the past couple of years for a lot of repair companies and these so-called call centers have been on the increase

ideally don’t work with them but reality dictates.- so try to be careful

A possible upshot is – that they are all competing with each other and no one is getting the lion’s share, not mentioning any names

service site is gone with the wind – surprise surprise,
seemingly owing engineers thousands so I’m guessing they will probably owe more to various vendors

they wanted us to take a card machine from them, basically, all the money would then go back to them, then they would pay you what you are due — hmmmm
we declined to use this method and advised we would continue using our own card machine
funny enough work dropped off from that point

im sure a lot of engineers have been caught out by using their card machines now

i heard rumors that Spike and his brother have been calling around engineers as they are going to start another service site 2 ?
presumably, they won’t be calling the engineers they owe money too

hopefully, the engineers affected haven’t lost too much

who would have guessed this was going to happen

these companies rely on you not to have the time to chase up the admin , or make it impossible for you to do so, ie pass you a so-called lead that not relevant to your business – charge you for it – then make it impossible for you to query it .

very sneaky – praying on small business owners

    TRUST PILOT REVIEW
    [h=2]THE TRUTH ABOUT SPETZ[/h]
Tradesmen please do yourself a favour and stay away, This company is an absolute fraud and scammers. They tried charging me £70 months ago because i didnt answer any phone calls the week my son was born. They rang me up saying i have an outstanding debt and i said i dont understand why i’m being charged for a service ive not been able to use? (Bare in mind i did try to cancel my subscription to them but they wouldn’t allow me to without me giving them a chance, BIG MISTAKE)

So Spetz then gets the DCBL to send letters to my current address and my old address threatening to take me to court and get bailiffs round my house for a new debt of £450?? I instantly rang spetz and they said we could arrange to pay the original £70 AND TO DELETE MY OLD REVIEW I PUT OF THEM ON TRUSTPILOT AS THEY SAID IT WOULD EFFECT THEIR BUSINESS, So i done what was asked of me, I didnt even want to pay the £70 but i would just to stop these bullying tactics.

Spetz are still having these letters sent to my new & old property. Even after agreeing that i pay the original debt, They will not respond to calls or emails. They got what they wanted and now they want £450 for nothing. Please guys save yourself the pain and just dont use this company.

yes could get expensive – this is where you need a commercial business model – which kinda goes against trying to help for free via the engineer search facility

could absolutely be done but at what cost ,

the other alternatives as mentioned already are Google Local services -which will put you on the top spot on page 1 at a budget you can afford

it’s a difficult one like you say, initial costs would need to be found /sourced,
something like this could go from trying to help to a full-on cash-hungry business

from what I can gather of the 25 fees they charge probably 10 of this is marketing costs,
I’ve no idea how much a national marketing campaign costs but it won’t be cheap

so the power of an existing t high DA website is a big advantage – ie 1st-page Google for various search terms, having done a little SEO and paid for SEO services i know you can get specific search terms and areas /towns, etc woven into the site for a reasonable cost — but again initial costs –

could be worth doing a pole or discussing at any upcoming meeting to check if their appetite and initial funding

Yeah, it’s not an easy one to administer – one way would be to take an upfront payment like a token system,
each customer passed would cost say 10-20?
once the balance has been used – need to top up before more leads passed

i think the best way to go is
qualified lead – the customer agreed to pay the agreed call fee and has agreed to TCs
this could be done via a phone call or automated via website

this way the funding is paid upfront,

lots of stuff to be looked at but could be a way forward

ahh – im sure with modern tech, billing could be sorted

anyway could be worth another look /investigation into the whole network search area if there’s enough interest

other than that – collectively using the points above we can start to reclaim local customers – needless to say what effect that would have on the nationals

maybe there’s an opportunity to take the search function to the next level, there is no way you could advertise this without costs

most of the big nationals take about 20-25 for a qualified lead/customer – this customer would have agreed to pay £70-80 for a call out
believe me when I say there is no shortage of customers

I’m not saying this is a good way or the best way to gain customers – but the evidence is it works

I’m sure anyone using a fully charged commercial version of a UKW search network would understand there would be a charge per lead

I for 1 wouldn’t mind paying a fee even for the basic version –

i know its all meant to be free but i think we are living in a different financial climate these days

why not do a poll ?

also meant to say we can use the power of the UKW site –

using the search a local company function – not sure if there’s a place where we can place our google maps link
also, a place for adding your website if you have 1

These 2 things can supercharge SEO on both google maps and web page

we could possibly set and display call fees on the search facility so customers can see – would be best if it’s a universal set rate

we have worked with all the national companies currently using Google to gain customers – their fees range between £65 to £90 – Customers seem to have no issues paying this plus parts – so there is an appetite from customers to use Google and happy to pay

I’m sure this could be automated to avoid call center costs/staff costs etc or at least keep to a minimum

I’m not sure how it all works with what UKW already has but it could be a start.
