i suspect the marketing/web content has been done via an outside company who,s creative juices have flowed a bit to much,
nothing wrong with creativity but surely a big co like 0800 ? should be checking content of their sites .
if they have been checked then someone has agreed to publish this stuff with full knowledge of content.
but hey i forgot they do have a disclaimer warning that some or all of the content is nothing but

hi ron i wouldn’t think Thomson local can do anything to affect your local listing.. ask the rep to write to you and explain – bet he wont , as bob says -come along and speak to guys that are doing this already 4 free – maybe we need to start a marketing group-forum thingy .?
if you upload a photo make sure photo has tags with your keywords – another good way to put more keywords onto google for your listing..

just spotted another dubious quote on 0800 franchise site

how are they well known all over edinburgh ? how can they possibly quote that .. do they have evidence that they are well known all over edinburgh ? – i dont think so
i suspect this ludicrous statement will appear on all the other franchise sites.
im personally going to create a similar site with ludicrous statements – see how far i get.
ps will be looking for a engineer to put on site .. allsorts

for anyone who cant be bothered or doesnt think that google maps wont work for them – here is factual proof .
30 minutes of your time will get you on page one of google and more importantly swing the balance of cash-omers back to the indies ..

one of my mates is getting a couple removed – he got them when he was about 20 – now fading ..

on a positive note lawrence has now raised his profile on google.. 😀
a word of caution dont mess about editing your listing to much – as google doesnt like this -and they end up posting your pin number instead of txting etc ..which can take 2-3 weeks ..
their is a lot of good tips on youtube on how to optimise your listing with keywords etc ..
best one is to put your picture up – customer really like to see whos coming – videos are great as well
try and get customers to REVIEW your listing– services as this really boosts your listing ..most seo guys will admit reviews carry the most weight ..
their is nothing stopping each of us doing a review on each others listing .
i for one was happy to receive a spare part from Lawrence and now i know has has a google listing i may just leave him a nice review..

google local maps is a huge weapon for in-dependants
just imagine how the marketing manager of a big national feels who are paying through their teeth to dominate and be on the top of page 1 when they see little johnny with his local google business listing right beside them for nothing zippo free of charge.. little johnny must be pi&&Sing himself
come on guys every one should have a google local listing.how long did it take lawrence .. 20 mins tops i bet , now you will be on page 1 of google for 20 mins work ..

mentioned females as its normally them who have on lower back,
didnt mean all just some – the ones with g-string half way up their back – my next door neighbour ewwwwww(tacky).nothing against tatoos,females , females with tatoos – just some of are a bit tackier than other ..
ps i love watching Miami ink , inked , etc . most tats they do have meaning and are done tastefully .
tramp stamp was more tongue in cheek cos it rhymed more than anything else..sorry for any offence bad choice of words ?

if anyone wants a google map local business listing let me know , i will if i can personally create a listing for you. pm me your buis details tel no address and radios covered from postcode, what you repair brands etc ..and if you have pictures you want shown – steady only business pics re van signs etc ..
ps this doesnt cost anything – just a bit of time .. how cool would it be to get all ukw members on google maps ..
we have all seen on here what collective cooperation achieves – every one on google maps receiving extra work or passing it on can only be a huge benefit

you dont need a po box , go into your google places listing – theres a check box that says
my customers come to me ( uncheck this)
or
i serve my customers at their homes (check this)- this then brings up a map where you can set your coverage..for anyone who is new to google etc – you dont need a web site to be on google local – in effect the google listing is your web site as you can pretty much put every thing on their ..
including photos , videos etcthere is a place where you can put your web site if you have one or if you want you can put another web site on ..
