ParticipantRe: Indesit DG6100W problem
Didn’t originally know about the water in the base until some time afterwards, just that it had stopped the program in mid cycle. Found the water later. If it’s a leak then I think it’s a new machine. Thanks!

Here is an update on this long running problem! Since the previous posts the machine has been running in this pattern.
1) Runs OK for a couple of times then stops in mid-cycle.
2) Emptying water out by tipping on it’s side, resets this and it will run again for a couple of times before repeating (above).
3) Even this no longer works now. Sticks in initial pump-out cycle.
4) Controller (timer) is OK (checked by replacement).
5) Machine doesn’t fill with soap (when working). No evidence of “oversoaping”.
Help! This machine is about to be replaced by a new one, unless anyone has any further ideas. Help save it from the knacker’s yard! Thanks again in advance.

I have emptied the water out now, and it works OK. I have some more information I didn’t originally know. Apparently it flooded the floor about a week before it went wrong. The floor was mopped up and the machine tried again the next day. It worked, and continued to work for a week, and no more was thought about it until it stopped part-way through a programme. That was when I got involved. Was this original flooding likely to be “over soaping”? Or something else? Thanks!

Yes, I can confirm that the base was flooded, although no water had come through on the floor.

No, I will try this and report back.

ParticipantRe: Indesit DG6100W problem
There doesn’t seem to be any flooding. The machine has a small round plastic protrusion sticking up inside on the bottom, with holes in it, which looks like some kind of sensor.

Hello, sorry about the delay in coming back. You are correct that if you set it to any programme, it goes into drain mode and stays there. I have found that rocking the machine up slightly, and down with a jolt, seems to trigger the machine filling, and then it runs normally. I am starting to wonder if it isn’t the controller, could it be a water level sensor or the water inlet valve? Thanks.
