One presumes this deal, if goes ahead, would have to go before the Mergers And Monopolies Commision for ratification.

Re my post above, I’ve just seen the post by kentish in the “embarrassed or what” thread! 😳
Can’t believe it!
Wonder if it was the same woman? 😆

ParticipantRe: The strangest thing you can find in a blocked pump
When with Hoover pulled a bra-wire from the pump of a two year old Logic.
Me: That’s yer problem, dear.
Mrs: What’s that then?
Me: A bra wire.
Mrs: But I’ve not worn a bra for over 20 years!
Me: (Slightly embarrassed and wishing to make light of the situation) Well, I suggest you take it up with your husband.
The silence for the rest of the time I was in the house was deafening!

If true will be the death-knell for Hotpoint as we know (or affectionately remember!) it. 😥

I must say, when regularly on the tools (as an employee) I used to carry a tyre repair kit as a patch coupled with an artily worked smear of silicone worked great for a temporary repair.
Must have been different material back then!

Hi All,
My thanks to those who have advised, much appreciated.
Typically, since I had a fiddle it has worked fine however I’m not a fan of fiddled ‘repairs’ so I’ll await the recall!
Cheers All.

Hi there,
Just an update.
Machine okay now.
After checking water pressure and conveyor assy I concluded that problem lay with dispenser. Taped a bent up paper clip to a pencil and combined that with a tooth brush to clean all the holes.
Now works fine.
Phew!
Cheers.

if they say go for it its there look out i am not liable.
i still cant work out why people still buy lino or grippy flooring for kitchens etc knowing full well washing machines and dishwasher could dig in and tear the floor.
muppetsGood to see you’re respectful of both the customer and their property :rolls:

Hi All,
She does live in a flat however it worked initially and as I mentioned earlier brother tested water pressure (in to bucket).
He thought it seemed fine (general builder).I’ll go along and give it a going over.
Cheers.

Martin wrote:Well it could be a water pressure/blocked filter problem? The bowden cable mechanism or spring return broken or in need of adjustment? Or the whole inlet nozzle clogged with limescale? Or last resort = new dispenser assy?
Hi Martin,
Brother checked for pressure and blockages – all appeared ok.
Bowden cable or spring return? I know what a bowden cable is but Part of the conveyor mechanism I presume, not familiar with these during my time with Hoover/Appliance Care/National Home Care.Any exploded diagrams available on’t’net?
I have previously cleared dispensers with proprietry descaler but not tried one of these.
Or obviously, I could pay £51 for a new dispenser!
Cheers

ParticipantRe: Who should pay?
Having previous links with insurers, for my sins!, I’d say that validation checks are supposed to be made. The insurer knows full well that if ‘they’ ask you to call out then ‘they’ are liable for your costs.
Just because ‘they’ don’t want to pay you is irrelevant. They must. It’s a well known fact 😉
