Nope! Carrying on the theme of dryers built in the North, we just do the White Knight. I reckon a sweet old lady like her should get 20 years out of one of them?
I’ll never sell Merloni, except recons. That particular VTD00 is actually a head transplant into one of the recent models with the (slightly) re-enforced cabinet and tear-drop bearing. Letya avit for 50 squid if yawan?

About 45 years old, built in Burrrrrnnley int old Burco factory 8)
She worked in the factory, which is probably why she stuck with it, even though the timer hasn’t worked for the last 20 years!

I reckon it’s a faulty element then. Can you test for continuity? Power off first of course :zap:
Don’t know what ‘speedcook’ is though. I’d guess it uses the other elements (grill) to boost the initial heat in the oven.
If the oven doesn’t heat at all without speedcook, then it’s 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain to be the main fan element.
